A man online said that he put shredded velour blankets in squirrel houses for their bedding. So, a while ago,
I cut up part of one of Cook's blankets that I still have and put it in the squirrel house. Lately, I noticed a
few pieces of it on the ground and when I looked in the house it was nearly all gone! Yesterday, I cut up and
put in a few more handfuls of blanket (insert). When I opened the door to go out a bit later, Intrepid Sammy
carefully laid the pieces that were in her mouth on the railing and ran to me to get a hazelnut. I waited and waited
with the camera ready and she finally came back. After a few minutes of trying to stuff them all in her mouth,
she ran down the post, towards the pine tree and to the field beyond. I'm guessing she took it home for her own nest.
Now I'm wondering if she'd like curtains
