We cannot understand why nobody else has solved this
You were all told that each glyph/pic represented a number of stars and even told you that
Sirius

was 2
This meant that in the final question you had to fill in these gaps
??.?? -???.? to give you the co-ordinates for the final destination then swim East for 1k
So really what is the problem?

Well, in my defense, I really thought it would be a couple of months, not a couple of years.
