We featured action from the 2021 PGA Tour season on Thursday with The American Express a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour schedule part of the tour's early season "West Coast Swing” being played at the PGA West Stadium Course in the Coachella Valley in greater Palm Springs, California. As usual, we divided the top 30 golfers into three groups of 10, and to win we had to predict which group would shoot the lowest score of the day, i.e. Round 1. Our choices — Group 1, 2, 3, or The Field.

Golf’s Hawaii swing is finished for 2021 and the Tour has now made its way to the West Coast for The American Express at PGA West in La Quinta for the tour’s first stop as part of it’s California/West Coast swing. It is a full field event this week with a 156 man field, featuring five of the top 20.
After nearly 14 golfers were tied for lowest score on Thursday, Brandon Hagy, who got in the field because Jon Rahm withdrew on Monday, led after firing an 8-under 64 on the slightly easier Nicklaus Course (both the Nicklaus Course and Stadium Course are being used this week for the full-field event).The entire board behind Hagy is pretty crowded as nearly 40 players are within four of his 8-under lead! Byeong Hun An finished second at 7-under, followed by Kim, Laird and Homa in a three-way tie for third.
