For our Friday Night Baseball edition we looked at two exciting games and all we had to do to win was pick the winner in both games. The favorites are in bold and red.
GAME ONE
Oakland Athletics at Tampa Bay Rays
The two hottest teams in the league clashed when the Tampa Bay Rays hosted Oakland in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday with their last chance at making a run at the Athletics for an American League wild-card spot….but it was not to be. The score was tied 1-1 for most of the game until the extra inning when the A’s scored a run to pull ahead.
GAME TWO
Los Angeles Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals
Two of baseball's top young righthanders — Jack Flaherty of the Cardinals and the Dodgers' Walker Buehler — squared off in a showdown at Busch Stadium tonight. Los Angeles won 9-7 in the opening game of the four-game series at Busch on Thursday, cutting the Cardinals' lead for the second NL wild-card spot to one game. In a pretty one-sided game tonight, the Dodgers scored thrice but the Cardinals just couldn’t get on the board.
