SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #230 MLB DAILY DOUBLE

For our Wednesday Night Baseball edition we looked at two exciting games and all we had to do to win was pick the winner in both games. The favorites are in bold and red.

GAME ONE
Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees


It’s inevitable that the Red Sox will wrap up the American League East at some point. But it was not going to happen with David Price on the mound at Yankee Stadium tonight.
Price has been the team’s most reliable starter since the All-Star break but still cannot shake his issues with the Yankees, who thumped the Red Sox, 10-1.

GAME TWO
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers


It may not have been a must win game for postseason hopes in general, but if the Rockies wanted to win their first division title, this game was as close to a must win as regular season games went…but it was not to be.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning, the Rockies fell behind as the Dodgers evened it all up in the 5th, scored 3 more in the bottom of the 7th inning, and won the game 5-2.

SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #232
UNDERDOGS

Normally I would do Friday Night Baseball... and while Baseball will be involved, my beloved and hapless losers, The Fighting Illini (University of Illinois) play host to the number 10 ranked team in the country, Penn State, in a College Football Match Up
So, it's time for another edition of UNDERDOGS
For those not familiar with the term, Underdogs are the exact opposite of the Favorites. The term is usually shorted to simply "the dog". When you hear the expression, "who is the dog in this match", somebody is asking which team or player is not the favorite. The term is usually only used when somebody or some team is really over matched.

For this Friday night edition of UNDERDOGS, we will provide you with three games. Unlike Slaughter Rule where we are asking you to pick which one will lose by the most points, here we are simply asking "Will all three of these teams lose?"

Your job will be simple... Say YES, which means you think all three will lose, or Say NO, which means you think at least one of these three teams will actually win.
So, it doesn't get any easier than this, just a YES or a NO

The Yankees want to solidify their Wild Card spot while the Orioles are just looking forward to playing some golf

That's right, they are giving my Fighting Illini only a 2% chance to win, and I think that might be too high They are 28.5 point dogs in this match up against the number 10 ranked team in the Country... TALK ABOUT GETTING UGLY

GAME THREE
San Diego Padres 61-92 at Los Angeles Dodgers 84-68
The last place Padres go into Los Angeles with really nothing to play for, while the red hot Dodgers are looking to extend their first place position.
San Diego may just phone this one in

The underdogs are in BOLD and RED
