TNF OVER/UNDER

For our Thursday night NFL edition, we looked at a game between a heavy favorite and a big underdog. To win, we had to make two predictions — who would win the game and whether the total points scored would be OVER or UNDER the target of 49.5

Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams


Jared Goff played an incredible game under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football, leading the Los Angeles Rams to five touchdown passes in a close win over the Minnesota Vikings, 38-31.
Goff finished the game having completed 26 of 33 passes for 465 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, the best game of his career. He was also only sacked one time, while Kirk Cousins was sacked four times by the Los Angeles defense. Cousins finished with 422 yards and three touchdowns, but lost a fumble on the final Minnesota drive.
Gurley led the way on the ground for the Rams, with 83 yards on 17 carries, while Cooper Kupp finished with nine receptions for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Adam Thielen led the way for Minnesota, with nine catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.
It was a good game, one of the best thus far this season. The Vikings played well on defense, and still couldn’t stop Goff and the Rams. It was a high-energy, high-effort game from all aspects of both teams, but the Rams came out on top, leaving the Vikings with a 1-2-1 record to start the season.

Rams were the winners tonight, and the total points scored was well over the 49.5 target.

NRL Women's inaugural grand final this weekend is a gamechanger for women's sport

When women like Heather Ballinger run out into the ANZ Stadium for the inaugural National Rugby League Women's (NRLW) Grand Final this weekend, there's so much more than bragging rights on the line.

The NRL's slogan for its very first women's premiership has been: "It's the Same Game. Our Way", but for the past 30 years that has been far from the case.

Brisbane Broncos prop Heather Ballinger debuted for the Jillaroos in 2011, but said it has taken decades of sacrifice to get the women's game to where it is today.

"At the end of the day we never complained about it, because that's what we really wanted to do," she said.

"You spend a lot of money to be where you want to be, to put all that aside and be able to throw on the jersey, well that means everything to the girls."

It also means the world to Annie Banks, who has been a key player in the development of Australian Women's Rugby League for 21 years.

She said women's sport has become "a beast that can't be ignored".

"We did envisage this a long time ago in hope. It's unbelievable that it's actually happening," she said.
