SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #376

CANADA VS. USA

Three Canadian NHL teams will faced off against three American Teams. So for this edition of CANADA VS. USA all we had to predict was which country would win the most games.

GAME ONE
Washington Capitals at Toronto Maple Leafs
Image

Nazem Kadri recorded the fifth hat trick of his career and added an assist as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated Washington 6-3 on Wednesday night and dealt the Stanley Cup champion Capitals their seventh straight loss.

GAME TWO
Arizona Coyotes at Montreal Canadiens
Image

Carey Price made 30 saves Wednesday night as he outduelled journeyman Calvin Pickard to give the Canadiens a 2-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes at the Bell Centre.

GAME THREE
Carolina Hurricanes at Vancouver Canucks
Image

It was an absolute goal fest in the second period and the Hurricanes put the Canucks away but good to win 5-2.

Since the Canadians won 2 out of the 3 games, CANADA was the right pick.
However, the Canadians missed out on a clean sweep so there was no bumping up of the pool tonight, which remained at 500 WRZ$.

AUSTRALIAN OPEN DAILY DOUBLE

For this Daily Double edition, we looked at the two women’s singles semifinal games from the Australian Open being played in Melbourne, Australia. To win, we had to predict the winner in both games. The favorites are in bold and red.

FIRST SEMIFINAL
Petra Kvitova vs. Danielle Collins
Image

No. 8 seed Petra Kvitova is back into a Grand Slam final for the first time since 2014 after ending unseeded American Danielle Collins’ dream run at the Australian Open. Up against the giant-slaying Collins, who stunned World No.2 Angelique Kerber en route to the final four, Kvitova had a fight on her hands in the first set but steamrolled to victory in the second, claiming the victory 7-6(2), 6-0 in an hour and 30 minutes.

SECOND SEMIFINAL
Karolina Pliskova at Naomi Osaka
Image

21 year old Naomi Osaka, and 2018 US Open Champion made it through to her second Grand Slam final in style after winning a tough battle versus Czech Karolina Pliskova. It was a seesaw affair with both players exchanging multiple breaks of serve throughout but it was Osaka who got the early break in the third set and held her nerve to serve out the match and win it 6-2 4-6 6-2.

SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #379

FRIDAY UNDERDOGS

We've got an Australian Open Semi Finals match and a few NBA games.
But looking at the match ups... they don't look so promising. So... It looks like a good time for UNDERDOGS
For this Friday edition of UNDERDOGS, we will provide you with three games. Unlike Slaughter Rule where we are asking you to pick which one will lose by the most points, here we are simply asking "How many of these three will win?"
Your job will be simple... you pick either 0,1,2 or 3
You have only four choices
So if only one of the underdogs win, and you pick one, you win... see, it's that simple

INFORMATION
GAME ONE
Novak Djokovic 91% vs Lucas Pouille 9%

This Semi Final Men's Australian Open match up is a "little" one sided
21th ranked Pouille will have his hands full with Number One ranked Djokovic
He doesn't really stand much of a chance ;)
(NOTE: For those paying attention, I had the wrong match listed when I originally posted this
However, the real match above is just as bad odds - feel free to edit your pick before match time if you think this actually will make any difference    )

GAME TWO
Los Angeles Clippers 75% vs Chicago Bulls 25%

This is the closest of the three games, and that's not saying much
At least the Bulls are at home, but I'm not holding out much hope

GAME THREE
Phoenix Suns 15% vs. Denver Nuggets 85%

Another match up featuring one of our favorite losers... the Phoenix Suns
And they won't have any home court advantage

The underdogs are in BOLD and RED

What is it?
A contest where you are predicting how many of these three underdogs will win

How do you play?
To enter this contest, you will need to post the following:
UNDERDOGS
And post either 0,1,2 or 3

EXAMPLE POST
FRIDAY UNDERDOGS
0

Rules:
Predict correctly and you win
Only 1 post/entry per person for this contest. If you make multiple entries, SHAME ON YOU
We will consider your FIRST POST/PICKS as your entry, and probably send you a PM or make a post saying how bad you are

ALL PICKS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE FOLLOWING TIMES:
FRIDAY 2:30 AM Chicago (UTC -6)
FRIDAY 8:30 AM GMT (UTC +0)
Any picks made after this deadline will simply be ignored.
Any edits after this deadline, and your post will be disallowed.

Reward:
If you guess correctly, you will share the 500 WRZ$ pool

So it's that easy, predict the number of underdogs that win on Friday, and you win this edition of UNDERDOGS

And still PLENTY of time to sign up for Today's Contest...
