For our Thursday NBA edition, we served up three HUGE dogs. To win all we had to predict was which underdog (in bold and red) would get slaughtered by the most points.
GAME ONE
Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards
In one of the most anticipated matchups of the season at Capital One Arena, the Wizards battled the Warriors on Thursday night. Washington would fall 126-118, but showed the heart and fight to put themselves in position to win. Chasson Randle provided a huge spark with eight points and strong defense in the fourth quarter. However, the Warriors were able to string together stops and go on a 9-0 run to retake a double-digit lead. Golden State would never relinquish that lead, closing out the Wizards for their ninth straight win.
GAME TWO
New Orleans Pelicans at Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder built a 22-point lead, then had to hold on late to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 122-116 on Thursday night at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City. The Thunder took control of the game in the second and third quarters, then the Pelicans made a run in the fourth quarter to get the deficit to just five points, before a Paul George 3-pointer put OKC up eight at 121-113 and essentially clinched the game.
GAME THREE
Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns
After a challenging back-to-back against a pair of Western Conference heavyweights, the Portland Trail Blazers were given a treat Thursday night: A game against the Phoenix Suns. Despite sleepwalking for most of the first half, the Blazers woke up in plenty of time to breeze past the Suns, beating Phoenix 120-106 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
