For our Thursday NBA Basketball edition we looked at two close games and all we had to do was guess correctly in both to win. The favorites are in bold and red.
GAME ONE
Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs entered Thursday night’s game, the first following the All-Star break, hoping to continue that enhanced level of play. They did just that, beating the Suns 111-98. It’s Cleveland’s fourth win in the last 11 games. The Suns went on a 12-1 run, retaking the lead for the first time since the 3:30 mark of the second quarter . But the Cavs settled down and capped the victory with an explosive fourth quarter, winning the final 12 minutes 34-26.
GAME TWO
Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks
In what could very well be a preview of a playoff matchup a couple months down the road, the Bucks knocked off the Boston Celtics, 98-97. Both teams were clearly rusty out of the gates. Following one, Milwaukee would be down 22-20. At half, they’d rebound for a 53-47 lead. In the end it came down to the wire as Kyrie Irving would miss what would’ve been a game-winning shot, giving Milwaukee the huge win.
