THURSDAY BEST SCORE

For this Thursday’s contest we were at the 2020 Phoenix Open, also called the “The Greatest Show on Grass” and one of the most popular events on the PGA Tour calendar, being held January 30– Feb 2 in Scottsdale, Arizona. We divided the top 21 golfers into three groups of 7, and to win we had to predict which group would shoot the lowest score of the Day, i.e. Round 1. Our choices — Group 1, 2, 3, or The Field.

Darkness forced play to be suspended in the opening round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Thursday, with nine players still remaining on the course. So technically Round 1 is still underway but for our purposes the nine remaining on the course were not even close to being near the top so we can safely declare our “leader” for Round 1

Playing in the second-to-last group off the 10th tee, Wyndham Clark shot a career-best 10-under 61 to take the first-round lead. He had eight birdies in a 10-hole stretch from No. 12 to No. 3, added two more on Nos. 7 and 8 and putted out for par on No. 9 just after sunset. Playing the in the penultimate group of the day, Clark managed to complete his 10 under opener in near-darkness as he provided the ideal response to back-to-back missed cuts in his first two starts of the year. Billy Horschel was second, holing nearly 200 feet of putts in an afternoon 63. J.B. Holmes was another stroke back after a roller-coaster start -- highlighted by a hole-in-one -- and big finish in the morning wave.

PART 1 - WOMEN'S

The Finals for both the men and the women singles will be this weekend.
We will be running separate contests for each Finals.
However, if you play in both, and win both, you will earn a 25 WRZ$ Bonus
The Women come first on Saturday - PART 1
For this contest, we are going to ask you to make two predictions. You will need to get them BOTH right to win and share the pool

FIRST - Who will win
Sofia Kenin 42% vs. Garbine Muguruza 58%
All the high seeds in this years Australian Open fell by the wayside. Sofia Kenin, the young American, is ranked 15th in the world. The more "seasoned" Garbine Muguruza, is ranked 32nd, but has won two majors and is the favorite.
SECOND - Will the match be over or under 21.5 total games?
OVER - 50%
UNDER - 50%
(Note: Total game count will be calculated based on the game scores of each set. Any tie breaker will be considered to have a maximum of 12 games. For example, a 6-4 7-6 score would mean a total of 22 games.)
