CSK beat Mumbai Indians in inaugural IPL match

Image

Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 165 for four against the returning CSK in the opening match. However, a brilliant innings of 68 by Bravo helped CSK to get the required score in just 19.5 overs. Bravo made 68 in just 30 balls.

Brief Scores: MI 165/4 (Krunal Pandya 41 off 22 balls, Ishan Kishan 40 off 29 balls, Suryakumar Yadav 43 off 29 balls)
CSK 169 for 9 in 19.5 overs (Dwayne Bravo 68 off 30 balls, Mayank Markande 3/23, Hardik Pandya 3/24).

Sadly I did say in my post they shouldn’t be underestimated they had to prove they are still as good as before, make a mark coming back after two year ban

Commonwealth Games Update: Aussie Dane Bird-Smith says Sally Pearson's withdrawal helped drive him to gold medal . . .

A "wrecked" Dane Bird-Smith has admitted Sally Pearson's withdrawal from the Commonwealth Games added pressure to perform before he won gold for Australia in the men's 20-kilometre walk.

Bird-Smith was forced to fight for a thrilling win on the Currumbin beachfront course this morning, crossing the line only four seconds ahead of England's Tom Bosworth following a titanic tussle.

His victory, which was followed by Jemima Montag winning gold for Australia after teammate Claire Tallent was disqualified late in the women's event, was achieved in a Games record time of one hour, 19 minutes and 34 seconds.

It maintained Australia's perfect record in the men's 20km walk across the five CG occasions it has been contested.

Bird-Smith, as an Olympic bronze medallist in the event, was always among Australia's key medal hopes on the Gold Coast but the pressure of expectation stepped up a gear when Pearson was forced to pull out of the Games because of injury.

The 25-year-old was overcome with relief to have captured the gold and he could not wait to celebrate with Pearson.

"This was a different ball game, I had a lot of pressure on me this time to perform," Bird-Smith said.

"Sally Pearson unfortunately pulling out … that was absolutely devastating for her. So I definitely wanted to lift and I wanted to be able to do it for her as well.

A shattered Claire Tallent was disqualified while leading the women's 20-kilometre walk at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, handing the gold medal to fellow Australian Jemima Montag.

Tallent was involved in an engrossing battle with Montag around the Currumbin beachfront course when she was shown a third red card, indicating she had been disqualified for an infringement.

The incident took place just before the 18-kilometre mark when Tallent was leading Montag by about 10 metres. The drama of the moment was reminiscent of Jane Saville's gut-wrenching disqualification at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Tallent, whose husband Jared is Australia's most decorated race walker, collapsed to her knees sobbing at the realisation of being disqualified so close to the finish. She knew she had already been shown two red cards but at the point of the race she was mindful she needed to push the pace if she was going to win the gold.

Looks like JG's spell-check failed him

I went back and checked, and it wasn't spell check that failed.
It was one of the Odds sites I use. They had it listed as Delphi...
Now granted, I was a moron for simply cutting and pasting without really looking, but I was wondering how I could make such a stupid mistake, and now I know :D
