Brighton’s Shane Duffy has revealed one of the most bizarre superstitions in football — his lucky toilet.
He picks a cubicle when he arrives at an away dressing room and then religiously ensures he only uses only that one for the rest of the day. Premier League
It will be the same at Old Trafford when Albion visit on Saturday looking for a third win in a row over Manchester United , with Duffy following a routine that has brought Brighton three away wins in league and cup and him three goals on the road.
“It started a couple of years ago,” said the Republic of Ireland defender. “I like to pick a lucky toilet at away games.
“If there are three cubicles and somebody is in my one, I have to wait. Sometimes I’ll move people across and say, ‘Get out of there’ even though others are empty.
“It’s weird, I know, but all the boys know about it now. I don’t pick which cubicle until I get to the ground – then I stick to it.”
Duffy aims to flush away Manchester United’s six-game winning run.
