SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #1196

BEAT THE SPREAD OVER/UNDERTuesday, the ELITE EIGHT continues. And yet again, both games don't really look very competitive... so to change it up...
Time for a
BEAT THE SPREAD OVER/UNDER
Now some of you may be asking, "Best the Spread", HUH?
The concept is really simple. For those that have played our contests, you will note that sometimes we provide information on "THE SPREAD"... The number of points, goals or whatever a team is projected to win by. Survivor is a classic example. We provide you with "THE SPREAD" as a way to show you how close or not so close the game is predicted to be. For this contest, we are asking you a simple question. Will the favored team not only win, but will they win by more points than the spread. You will have only two choices, yes or no. If you pick yes, a team that is favored by 8.5 points, must not only win, but they must win by 9 or more points for you to be correct. If you pick no, even if the favored team wins, as long as they don't win by more than 8 points, you are correct. Needless to say, if the underdog wins, the point spread is meaningless and only people that picked no will be correct.
So it's that' simple, all you have to do is say YES or NO.
The second part of this contest is an OVER/UNDER
For those that don't remember, OVER/UNDER is a classic betting term. It's a bet that has nothing to do with who will win the game. Instead, you are betting on whether the
TOTAL number of points (or goals, or runs, or whatever) scored by
BOTH TEAMS will be OVER or UNDER a certain target number. So when you hear somebody say, "the over/under for this basketball game is 155.5, that means the target number is 155.5
Anybody betting the
OVER is betting that a total of 156 or more points will be scored by both teams in the game
Anybody betting the
UNDER is betting that a total of 155 or less points will be scored by both teams in the game
So... to win this contest, you not only have to guess whether the favorite will cover, but you also have to guess whether it will be Over or Under the target...
INFORMATIONGAME ONE

OVER/UNDER 155.5What is it?You have to predict not only whether the favorite (Gonzaga) will win by 9 or more points, but also whether the total score will be over or under 155.5 points
