Women's Luge continues to love Germany and hate the USA. Actually American Ashley Farquharson was first for awhile! And then everyone else went and we were back to last again. Actually Ashley Farquharson finished 12 so good for her, but we got beat by a mom named Natalie Geisenberger who won her third Gold in between having kids. That's how good the Germans are at sledding fast. German moms in their 30's just crush us!
This sport is crazy though. I can't imagine what it was like to hurtle yourself down that track 100 years ago with basically a kids sled and no safety equipment. I mean one lady wrecked out and flipped and the sled rode HER down the slope to the finish line. And she walked away. Unenviable! I mean who even tries this sport? Once you go on your first run, your locked in. It's ride or crash because you can't just stop and quit until you finish or die. I just know I'd die on my first ride. I'd panic quick. I'd be wondering why I thought I could do this all the way to Heaven or the Hospital. These people are insane. Germany, you can have it! We'll keep cheerleading.
