TRIFECTA

For tonight’s horse racing, we were in Arlington Race Track, in beautiful Arlington Heights, Illinois.
The 9th race was the one we were watching today, and it was a fast track with a distance of one and one sixteenth miles on the dirt.

As we know, horses can be scratched (or removed) from a race due to injury or other factors prior to post time.

3 horses in Race #9 were scratched prior to the race today.

Here’s what the updated race card looked like…

Croce d’Oro, was in the predicted top 4, and so featured in many of our picks. To those affected all we can say is…Bummer :(

He does provide a spark and might turn into a leader but I think the reason he's cheap is that he's a salary dump who probably doesnt have much range and isnt hitting monsters number like he usually does. I think they should move Baez to third. Though Russell to me has never been that good a hitter and never really understood the hype. They are probably better with him their defensively. I personally wouldve liked Kris at short. Strop has been way better than expected at closer. Given them a lift. I think barring injury Daniel just might be the spark they need for the rest of the way. If not the ship will sink.

So far, Murphy is 4 for 10 in the lead off spot, and the Cubs have scored 15 runs in the last two games he's been with the club
While not a proto type lead off guy, his on base average is what counts. We've had problems with the lead off spot since Fowler left... and while Murphy will probably not stay in that position, you can count on Madden to keep him in the line up
And Yeah, for now, Russell is the odd man out

Queensland school teacher Lee Addison to coach Poland's national rugby league team

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-24/l ... tion=sport

Lee Addison is a big, straight-talking Aussie. A bloke, as befits his chosen sport of rugby league, not normally overflowing with emotion.

This time though, he exudes a tangible sense of elation.

"I've coached lots of teams but there was a completely different feeling when I got the phone call," Addison confessed. "I was genuinely gobsmacked."

The reason?

Addison, who works at Mabel Park State High School in Logan, in south-east Queensland, has just been made national rugby league coach of Poland, a country he has never been to.

Yet there is a very personal connection with the nation he is going to lead. His grandfather Stanislav Adasko was a Pole put into a labour camp by the Russians during World War II, who after his release fought at the Battle of Arnhem before starting a new life in England.

The structural engineer not only settled down with an Englishwoman but Anglicised himself in another way.

"My grandfather had a lot of trouble finding work … changed his name [to Stanley Addison] and got the job of his dreams straight away," Addison said.

Addison has a mere matter of weeks to put a team together and make it gel. Poland is part of the Emerging Nations World Cup in Sydney this October. The sport is in its infancy in Poland so his new side will — for reasons of practicality and safety — consist entirely of expats.

"It's a real collision sport that we play and sometimes if you get that wrong and put the wrong person in it can be embarrassing or worse, it could be dangerous," Addison said.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will play an 18-hole prize match, with $12 million to the winner

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-23/i ... tion=sport

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have been rivals for two decades, now the veteran golfing superstars have announced they will hold a multi-million-dollar head-to-head match in November.

The pair — who have 19 major titles between them — have engaged in some social media trash-talk to promote the showdown, to be held during the American Thanksgiving weekend.

The winner of the 18-hole duel at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas will walk away with $US9 million ($12.25 million), WarnerMedia — which has secured worldwide media rights to the event — said in a statement.

PREMIER LEAGUE DAILY DOUBLE

IT CONTINUES (and will continue forever  )... the 2018-2019 Premier League Season
For those of you in the Mobilism Premier League Fantasy Tournament, you will note that I improved in week two... but, still more research is NEEDED

There will be a full slate of games this weekend
2 of them will be the focus of this Contest
And, since the two games feature some solid favorites, if you pick the dog, you also get credit for the win if the match ends in a draw :D
This will be a Daily Double, and you know the drill. You will have to make the correct prediction on BOTH games to win.
NOTE REMINDER: If anybody has a favorite Premier League team, please feel free to post about it, or at least mention that they are YOUR TEAM. That way, I can try to feature them in upcoming contests
I would much prefer to include teams that SOMEBODY cares about instead of teams the NOBODY cares about
:D

INFORMATION
GAME ONE

Huddersfield 42% vs. Cardiff City 28% + DRAW 30% = 58%
This will be the pick that probably determines the winners
While Huddersfield is a solid favorite, when you throw in the Draw, Cardiff looks pretty good
However, there has only been 1 draw so far in this years Premier League games, so I'm not sure I trust the draw odds
Good luck with this one

GAME TWO
Liverpool 80% vs. Brighton 7% + DRAW 13% = 20%
Even the people that pick the dogs to go counter to the other pickers will have a hard time taking this dog
In betting, we call this a gimme

The FAVORITES are in Bold and Blue

What is it?
This is a Daily Double so you will need to predict the winners of both events to win your share of the pool

How do you play?
To enter this contest, you will need to post the following:
PREMIER LEAGUE DAILY DOUBLE
Pick either Huddersfield or Cardiff City/DRAW
Pick either Liverpool or Brighton/DRAW

EXAMPLE POST
PREMIER LEAGUE DAILY DOUBLE
Cardiff City/DRAW
Liverpool

Rules:
You have to pick BOTH events correctly to win
Only 1 post per person for this specific contest, any more and all of your posts will be disallowed.

ALL PICKS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE FOLLOWING TIMES:
SATURDAY 9 AM Chicago (UTC -5)
SATURDAY 2 PM GMT (UTC +0)
Any picks made after this deadline will simply be ignored.
Any edits after this deadline, and your post will be disallowed.

Reward:
If you guess correctly, you will share the 500 WRZ$ pool

So it's that easy, just pick two right and you win the DAILY DOUBLE
