There is a lot of good stuff going on this weekend, but this is the Thursday Contest
Both Chicago baseball teams are in action Thursday night...
So it's time for a DAILY DOUBLE
And, since this is a Daily Double, you know the drill. You will have to make the correct prediction on BOTH games to win.
INFORMATION
GAME ONE
Chicago Cubs 77-53 at Atlanta Braves 74-57
The first place Chicago Cubs go into Atlanta to face the first place Braves
Both teams are doing fine with the Cubs 7-3 in their last 10 games, and Atlanta is 6- 4. The Cubs have Mike Montgomery, an average pitcher going up against the best pitcher Atlanta has, Mike Foltynewicz. Both teams need a win to keep the second place teams at bay in their divisions. Atlanta is at home and have the better pitcher, so they are a "marginal" favorite in this contest.
And this will probably be the game that determines our winners
GAME TWO
Boston Red Sox 91-42 at Chicago White Sox 52-80
There is NO DOUBT who the favorite is in this contest. The first place Red Sox are far superior to the 4th place White Sox. The Red Sox also will be going with a better pitcher, Rick Porcello, while the White Sox will be using Lucas Giolito, who hasn't had a very good year
Granted, Chicago has been on a roll winning 7 out of their last 10 while Boston has stumbled lately, winning only 4 out of their last 10... However, this one could get ugly
The FAVORITES are in Bold and Blue

US OPEN UNDERDOGS
The first of the Four Matches is complete
Sloane Stephens 4-7-6 WINNER
Anhelina Kalinina 6-5-2
Our underdog got off to a good start surprising Stephens in the first set, and going strong in the second
But talent eventually won out as the number 3 seed recovered nicely and put the hammer down
So the favorite survived... three more to go
Our second match, Juan Martíndel Potro (3) vs. Denis Kudla just started
The other two matches will be this evening
