It was a crime of passion. My passion for cake. Sweets were my mistress, but love can be cruel, and this instance was no exception. If love was a hurricane, then call this cake Katrina because I was living in Texas now until my home was no longer flooded, contingent on a fair settlement with my insurance company that seems to never come.
As J. D. Salinger once wrote: “When you're dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a GD cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.”
How does that apply to this cake caper? It doesn't. I just like quoting 'The Catcher in the Rye'. I don't know much, but I do know one thing for certain my fellow Cakeheads. Next time, catching me won't be so easy!
