Until last year, I'd pretty much always had at least one Oscar party to attend. My wife and I would watch all the contenders in the major categories, which was sometimes a slog. We tended to clean up in the betting pools, one of us usually won, and one year we tied for first making different picks.

Last year, with COVID rampant, there were no parties and we didn't watch a single nominated flick. It was such a relief that this year we didn't even make a pretense of looking up the nominees.

Oh well.

well looking at the lists I can tell i'm really out of touch with movies...I recognize 2 actors and 1 actress and none of the titles

I guess I know where my passions do not lay, give me mobi and a few thousand books on my tbr list and i'm a happy girl
