I hear chrome is supposed to be faster because each tab is treated as a new windows , uses more cpu etc etc . But it was slow and buggy for me

memory and number of used extensions influences Chrome's speed substantially.

Without extensions and with enough memory Chrome is much faster than Firefox

Firefox is actually getting faster again since they fixed a number of things not too long ago to improve the speed, and Chrome is slowing down it seems

It's not an opinion, you can time it..

The problem is that you can never test it on ALL possible confighurations...

If Chrome is slower on your computer than Firefox that says very little about whether or not is actually IS faster/slower, just on your computer maybe.

Saying X is faster/slower than Y is pretty useless, you have to supply tunder what conditions..
