Hi bear . . . yes, DST a nuisance and sometimes there are suggestions here to end it, but they never seem to come to anything. My grandchildren live in Queensland, and they've need used Daylight Savings at all. Now they're one hour behind me. And my brother in Maine is 15 hours behind NSW time . . . that will go to 16 hours when EST changes to DST. Whew! Anyhow, the quolls and possums and koalas take no notice!

Just noticed that Ice is here too, so will send along more Aussie greetings. And of course, as always, to booktopia. Yesterday's spring weather (23 C or about 72 F) was amazing, but now it's incredibly windy and is supposed to be down to 3 degrees (about 35 F) tonight. Brrrrr. Will have the fireplace going again.

Yesterday I was encouraged by the spring weather and walked further on the trail, around my usual lookout spot, where I've taken many photos, and took this shot back towards the rock where I usually sit . . . ten minutes' walk from my house . . .

Good night, Ice and a belated hi to coolohoh.

Alessa, I'm focussing on the many cute animals and leaving out those that aren't so cute.

pjmpjm - loved the picture you photographed, and also wanted to thank you for those nice weather updates from Australia. I live in southeastern Virginia, where a quick 15 min drive can bring me to the North Carolina border. ... Here we are mid 70s(F) in the day and 60s (F) at night, but I am praying that we actually have a fall and winter season this year - where temps start to drop in November to 50-40 degrees and 40-30 in December and possibly lower in January. Last year, I didn't even get to wear boots or heavy winter wear until January, and even then it was only in the 40s. Many people were pissed when it was 75 degrees on Christmas Day.
I do agree that DST is annoying, though I am pretty happy when DST ends in the fall and I get an extra hour of sleep/ time to do homework.

Thanks for the kind words, horserider311. Believe it or not, when I was a student many years ago (matina says not to say how many) I lived on the edge of Washington DC (NW) and spent a lot of time in Virginia. Once I even drove to the NC border, just so I could say that I had entered that state! Hope I can post a few more pictures here at TFWBL. Am lucky to live right next to the second largest National Park in the world!

damn i knew my ears were burning for a reason  8) lol;-) hi PJ so when did you ever listen to what i had to say
& @ horserider if your still here  nice to meet you welcome to the forum of the last will be first. so just because i love southern accents and the whole ideal of what real genuine southern hospitality used to be like im sending you a welcome to mobilism donation for you :D

PJ and anyone who is interested an update my state it is real bad at the moment had the prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten visit our state today half the state is flooded under with water affecting the vegetable and fruit growing regions in the suburb of Virginia. so prices of fruit and veg will skyrocket as most of NSW suffered flooding too :o  :? :? so now its only up to getting stuff from Victoria and Perth and overseas imports god help us all till we recover :( :( :( so they came they saw and offered no real hope of compensation to growers/gardeners for their severe losses very very slack indeed;-( :( :(
:o  Flinders hospital was blacked out as was our whole state but its back up generators never kicked in as they should have and they lost all sperm and egg and embryo specimens as they expired :o  :? :?    its a real horror story for most folks who have paid thousands $$$ for their specimens to be in safe keeping even worse for those who were ready to have the embryos implanted in just a few days it is heartbreaking to see that fallout for so many all out of the sheer incompetence of folks not doing the jobs they should ei seeing if generators work and to be tested regularly      :( :( :( :( heart wrenching.
Others going through chemotherapy who had their specimens saved for future use all gone forever. no amount of money or apology can ever make up for that.
we went for a short outing this morning with mum today there was not a road that doesn't have a dangerous large water filled potholes in it and drivers trying to avoid them now is as dangerous as hell. its deplorable how councils revenue raise and dont ever maintain the infrastructure. all this stuff happening because folks make cuts and believe more in the $$$$$$ as daffy duck would say "thats just despicable" my tirade for the day. :( :( :(
