Photo shows the Fairmont Resort, about 900 metres from my house, which is off to the far right. The Dalai Lama visited here last year, and rented the entire resort for a week! There are great views from the front rooms, as you can see.

@PJ re your burglar shot in home invasion article. well done to the home owner i say but how disgusting are our laws that protect the thief more than the homeowner. whoever the homeowner is he will be facing excessive force charges and not allowed to enter a self defense plea which sucks big time. laws need a huge revamp my way of thinking anyone that enters your premises without an invitation (enter at own risk) gets everything they deserve.
@ diva i hope you get well soon but it is proven honey and lemon in some warm water help the coughing fits better than cough suppressants. good luck sweetheart i hope you are well again very soon praying for you.

Diva, we have a small Tibetan community up here in them mountains, and several Indian-related retreat centres, like Brahma Kumaris, so have few celebrities turning up here from time to time. Richard Gere was traveling with with the Dalai Lama.

Liza, I guess the DL is generously supported by the Tibetan Buddhists worldwide, who no doubt sponsored the expensive event at the Fairmont.
