Good morning to matina and Alessa with a couple of Major Mitchell cockatoos . . .

Image

We don't see ever any around here, in the Blue Mountains, as far as I know. Never spotted at my bird feeder, anyhow.

Greetings to Diva, too, and also br bear and Ice.

Stretton and booktopia . . . are you still around?

Sunny again today, but we had a southerly change and it's much cooler now. Last night it was down to 7 or 8 degrees, I think.

Hope everyone is well.

Thanks to br bear and booktopia for the mention of Thanksgiving. Of course, we don't celebrate it here in Oz, but I'm hoping to get a Skype call from my brother in the US, towards the end of the day, when it will be Friday morning here. Will give me a little bit of extra contact with his family and three grandchildren.

Did a bit of searching and found a picture of the Australian brush-turkey . . .

Not the most attractive of birds . . . but we used to see them, or find their huge nest-mounds, when I lived closed to Sydney. I don't they they live up in the mountains. And I have no idea if people eat them. Maybe matina can tell us!

Alessa and everyone, will sign off now. Am heading off to my 'secret' Blue Mountains spring to fill up ten large water bottles. Photo below shows the back of my Subaru Forester, taken on the last trip . . . There was a bush fire near the spring two days ago, so am hoping that area isn't cordoned off.

And thanks again, Ice!
