I drove near the Mt. Blackheath fire ground the other day, when picking up my water from the Shipley Plateau spring . . . all was very quiet there.

We had a very devastating fire this year in Alberta.... it wiped out a whole town....

and yes pj, we are still recovering from the fires that hit our province this summer... what it has done to our economy is tragic, it is going to take years to rebuild so sad what mother nature can do.

br, I read all about those terrible Alberta fires. I think some Australian volunteers flew over to assist. There's usually a kind of exchange between Australia and the US/Canada with firefighters. We now have the large US helicopters arriving here every summer, on loan during the Northern winter. Yes, we've had some serious fires here in the Blue Mountains over recent years as well. Fingers crossed. So far, so good today . . .

Ice, I thought he was a cute one. Haven't seen any near my house, though!
