Back with a good morning greeting for matina and Alessa, with yet more possums!

Hi to Katy too. It's going to be another very warm day in the Sydney area, isn't it?

Ice and GR, it's a toss-up as to whether the snow or the hot weather wears you down more! Guess most people would choose the latter!

Katy, would loved to have had some of that rain down here in the Blue Mountains! Has been surprisingly humid here too, but the wind is blowing a bit too hard and everything is quite dry. Thunderstorms predicted this afternoon. With the NP right across the street, fire is always a worry . . . especially with so many teenagers (and others) lighting fires these days. I keep checking the 'Fires Near Me' site, but all seems quiet so far . . . (knocking on wood) . . . wind is whistling in the chimney as I write . . .

br, I really value my weekly chats with my only sibling, my 'baby brother,' now 16 hours time difference away. As part of his work (as an arborist, firewood supplier and snow plowing contractor) he's always looking after the 300+ acres behind his house. Two years ago he put a kind of trail in, so that he could reach the far back of the land. Otherwise, the forest there is impenetrable . . . Am attaching a picture of his Christmas tree expedition yesterday, with at least one of his grandchildren . . .

hey pj.... how many trees did he cut down.... I'm assuming they are for him and his children or does he put several up in his house :D :D and look to be quite large trees at that... :D :D

I haven't gone to get mine yet.... falling a little behind I am....

br, my brother has four grown-up children, with their families, plus his own, plus one for his brother-in-law . . . so I guess . . . at least six trees! He might have grabbed another one or two for the neighbours . . . Will ask him on the next Skype call. The woods around there are so thick, that if you don't thin trees out a bit, they really don't grow well. They're all packed together and I recall that parts of his land are nearly impassable. I was there most recently in May of 2012. So I imagine he's cutting and thinning the trees according to some long-term plan. From the looks of them, these seem to be spruce trees.
