hmmm yes i got one for religious genre with no prompt as to what religion??? :o  :? :? :? and if they wanted a romance, self help self exploratory book cookbooks etc etc :? :? very hard as this is. one doesn't know for example a romance how far the romance part should go etc without causing offense. :? :? i did make a choice from one of my favorite authors. which i wont mention as i dont want to let any cats out of the preverbial bag as yet i hope i made a good choice and they enjoy it;-)
nonny maybe we can also ask just what they are after ei romance and how heavy they like romances ei descriptive Victorian, regency, erotic, shifters, male or female or combined alien time periods etc or if they are after cookbooks, self help, historic, myths etc etc might be good too. just a thought so we dont inadvertently offend anyone by doing this;-) :D :D

Or maybe next year we are given only an user name (without genre or clues) and we send a book of our choice.
The worst scenario would be that we'll have a normal Secret Santa where nobody likes his/her present and it's all fake thanks and compliments but maybe, just maybe, someone will be encouraged to get out of the comfort zone and discover a new world of possibilities. :?

I do too! :D

Maybe next year people should have the option to be more specific about their choice or alternately say "Surprise me" in which case the person choosing can pick whatever they like?

I'll make note of your suggestions guys and pass them on to the SS Team. This year was the first time its been tried on mobilism so it is very much a work in progress and a learning curve for future repeats ;)

My thanks to the SS Team for Secret Santa (although I feel a little at unease thanking the Nazis)! :D

Hi! @ Amill, WD, Elle, matina

In my experience, Secret Santa is done with people you're somewhat familiar with, so not knowing anything about the person you're trying to find something for is extremely hard. I support the idea of either having the recipient give more information about what they would like (or not like), or go with the "surprise" gift.

2 cups of coffee sound ideal. I just came back from Starbucks, where I drank a venti Caramel Macchiato. Yum.
