Saturday afternoon greetings to matina and Katy and Alessa! I'm over at the Katoomba Library, sitting in a nice, soft chair, and enjoying a wonderful internet connection! Couldn't connect at my house this morning, but am so glad I made the effort to get over here, because it's so comfortable. Closes at 4 pm so I have another 90 minutes . . .
br bear, thanks again for keeping SMY going! Will have another daily photo posted soon.
GaronLord, my son and his family are visiting New Zealand right now, on a three week tour from the North Island down to the South Island. So they might be visiting the hobbit village soon!
matina and Katy, as you know, I refuse to indulge in even talking about the k word . . .
John, my brother and everyone in Maine are getting excited about the Super Bowl. My brother would prefer to see the Giants playing, but he's probably the only Giants fan in the whole of New England.
Katy, I already have promises for reimbursement of my ISP costs, and am now focusing on the NBN visit on Monday afternoon. Last time, they cancelled once and didn't show up a second time, so it took three scheduled visits before I got a fix. Hope you'll have a good weekend. It's fairly cool up here right now, but nice and warm here in the Library.
matina, you wouldn't believe it, but we lost electricity for two hours this morning! Checked with Endeavour Energy and it was only in Leura and nowhere else! I'm not sure if my family is visiting Hobbiton while they're on the North Island, but it could be one of the stops the grandchildren chose. They spent weeks picking and choosing where they wanted to go during the trip, but I never received the full list!
http://www.hobbitontours.com/en/Will sign off for now and get my e-mail sorted out. Should also enter my usual contests, if I can. Will try a 'hotspot' connection from my house this evening. Otherwise, might drive back over here on Sunday.
My brother and his friend drove north away from the coast and visited a line of wind-drive power stations. The one below shows my brother standing at the base of one, with another whirling away in the distance. We have these too, in the country area south of the Blue Mountains . . . look just the same. Very, very weird, though . . .
