Up to 26 degrees at noon here in the mountains, after an overnight low of 17. Beautiful and sunny.

Drove over to Wentworth Falls today and took a few pictures from various vantage points. I had to lean over the railing to get this shot of the Falls itself.

matina, I'm going to have some snow pictures for you soon! It just started raining in my brother's part of Maine!

John, hope you're enjoying the Olympics and keeping a close eye on the Curling results.

Katy, trust that you're enjoying your weekend. Was up to 28 degrees here, but has dropped to 24. Beautiful day if you stay out of the sun.

The blizzard played havoc with my internet today. Had my phone connection, but that was about it for most the day. But it's stable again now and back to entering more contests

Pj... watched about three hours this evening. It was all figure skating, ice dancing, and snow boarding, which is pretty typical for NBC's prime time coverage.

John, please track down a few Chicago area snow scenes for matina. I can't access any from Maine right now. Shot must show ample snow and temperature must be below -20 C.

My own photo was taken two hours ago when I was at Fletcher's Lookout at Wentworth Falls . . . temperature 28 degrees C.

Katy, thanks for the reminder about little Moo. She's still in the care of the housesitter in Queensland and I think my daughter-in-law is getting regular reports about her, Wally and all the rest of the menagerie.

matina, sorry I couldn't come up with any new snow photos from Maine . . . but it looks like John has come through!

My son's family has promised more Queenstown photos this evening. And now I've just heard that they've booked a helicopter tour of Mt. Cook!

I've visited this same area in the past, and it's truly one of the most beautiful parts of NZ.

WOW!!! STUNNING PICTURE PJ. the water is so beautiful blue my favourite hue of it and it just transported me to the lord of the rings. where they were canoing down that part of the river that part of the movie was just magical the scenery so stunning. i hope i get to see it in person one day, bucket list material. thanks for sharing PJ.
