I'm surprised you don't have that in your purse as well
Yeah Katy, I had to take a long nap today... I was up until 6 or 7 AM this morning finishing up all the Olympic write ups, pay outs, and other general housekeeping. Now I have to come up with some non Olympic contests
Hi to Ice, Belle, Pj, Stretton, Slynch, tiffers and anybody else that I missed.
And for the ladies, a twofor...

And I just had to include this one...

Hope everyone is well . . .
Katy, temperatures up here were between 10 and 12 degrees all day. It's been a taste of winter, but at least all the rain means that we won't have to worry about fires for the rest of the summer . . . I hope!
John, glad to hear that you're catching up on lost sleep! Don't forget that the Commonwealth Games are coming up in April! Attaching a sunny photo from Saturday for you . . .
matina, that was quite a story about what you carry around! I always carry either my mini Leatherman tool or mini Swiss Army Knife but am told I may be breaking the law! Wonder what they'd do to me . . .

Have been reading some short stories to prepare for tomorrow's tutoring. My student has to write an essay comparing three short stories and then write one of his own!

yeah i know right PJ i use mine to take the skin off fruit as it annoys my stomach, plus i cant tell you how handy it has come on many occasions to help me out. using the scissors on it to cut loose annoying threads and also to help cut medication in half. and tighten the screws on my glasses id be lost without it. I don't smoke but i carry a lighter too. (you just never know when you might need to light someone up)
using deodorant spray to help matters along
yeah i know way too many Macgyver episodes from my youth, it isn't what is in the bag so much as how you combine stuff to use it
just kidding
I was never a girl scout but i loved their motto be prepared!!!!

Hi bear, ice
Good morning, matina and Katy and Alessa.
Sun has just come out, before 12 noon, and it's warming up, after nearly three days of cold and rain . . . very unusual summer weather. Now up to 16 degrees . . . was only 10 last night. Fuzzies were finding warm places to snooze.
matina, I was a Boy Scout for a number of years, and sure learned a lot that helped me later on.
Katy, yes, off to tutoring today at 5 pm. I always have to do maths, but enjoy teaching about short stories, since I used to do a lot of writing back in the day. And I run into stories that I'd never have read otherwise. Jhumpa Lahiri is an example.
John, Sports Center seems to be going full speed ahead now!
Welcome to BernieEmber. Hope the wind has died down now.

Here's a photo from yesterday, showing my brother's grandson, my grand nephew, visiting some timber harvesting work being done near my brother's house in Maine.

thank you PJ for the snow porn awesome!!! what a cute grandson he is gorgeous attitude already there to boot
yeah i here you about the scouts PJ but i had a hands on experience growing up in the country on a fruit property you quickly pick up survival techniques in the school of hard knocks as they say and you have to be prepared for anything especially when your property has some scrub bush land on its borders. snakes cane toads dont let he name fool you they dont only hang around sugar canes. so you learn to carry a knife with you from an early age.

matina, yes, I was lucky to learn many practical skills while growing up, but not as many as my brother or even my son.
My grand-nephew watched this machine at work and then was allowed to go up into the cab, after the crew knocked off for the day. You can see the setting sun shining in the tops of spruce and pine trees.

yes i know big tip never leave home without a plastic bag or 3.
1 to keep phone and matches dry
2 to collect berries Witchetty grubs food etc as you come across any
3 you can tie it onto leafy tree branches to collect water during the day as it tries to evaporate & collect and drink water in the evening bush survival 101 as you dont have the luxury of having fresh water nearby well definitely not here in Australia
now time to boil the billy for a cup of tea

https://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/the-ultimate-swiss-army-knife/on my wish list!!!awesome!!!

Well... I never leave home without my American Express Card.
If I need anything, I'll simply buy it
However, I also carry a small Swiss Army Knife. And I do keep a baseball bat under the driver seat in my car
Pj... cute pic.
Ladies... no call for snow porn so I guess the weather was OK today
