Good morning, matina and Katy and Alessa.

Hi to Stretton, John, Diva, Ice, br bear and all the TLWBTF regulars.

Here's a photo of my Florida-bound brother, still stuck at a Day's Inn in Springfield, PA! Doesn't really look like that much snow, certainly not enough to affect flights at Bangor International . . . Maybe they don't cope with the snow as well down there. Anyhow, that's two days gone from the Florida holiday!

All this eye surgery talk is slightly disconcerting for me, but of course I'm only facing cataract removal. I probably should get it done soon, but am still thinking I'll wait another year. I can tell that my distance vision is considerably worse, especially when driving, but I can still read OK. My sister-in-law had a lot of laser eye surgery done over the past ten years. She now has only one working eye and is very careful with it. When I read on my computer or Kindle, I don't need glasses at all.

Glad everyone is enjoying okra now. I might have to try sometime. Thanks, Diva, for all the recipes. (Also received the beautiful pictures.)

Grey and gloomy and rainy here . . . down to 9 degrees overnight. Have the winter's firewood delivery arriving at 2 pm. Will take a picture and post it here. I can scavenge quite a lot locally, but it's really easier to buy most of it.

Off for a Lavazza . . .

That really sucks... trying to get away from the snow, and getting stuck in Springfield PA... BUMMER.

I'll eventually need cataract removal, or so I'm told. No issues at the moment.

And matina... I was reading your post, got as far as the "mens section" and looked at the picture... and was slow getting to the next line.

I do all the laundry in our house... and 95% of the cleaning.
Isn't that what husbands are supposed to do... ;)

And unfortunately, both my brothers have been married for over 30 years. We just had our 35th anniversary 3 days ago :D

It's really simple.
We both have REAL JOBS, so.... We each have our own jobs to do around the house. I do very little of the cooking (just grilling and short order type stuff)
My wife does all the household books/finances (I do enough of that crap for work) and most of the household shopping.
However, we do the grocery shopping together to make sure I get the stuff I want to eat ;)
She also does all the scheduling, thank yous and other types of notes that need to be sent at holidays and birthdays and whatever.

Again, we just split up all the work and make sure we each do our jobs/share.

Now yeah, I know most husbands don't clean... but I would rather do that type of work than the finances, sewing and secretary type stuff.
