I see i came in time for the cricket controversy. well when i was younger we all played/watched sports for the love of it But like everything else as soon as money rears it ugly head either through betting or being paid millions of dollars to play a sport it no longer is for just the love of the game anymore.
I think start cutting off so much money being paid to players let them work for a living like most players had to in the hay day and only get paid for their wages and expenses when they are playing for the season of whatever they play so it is for the love of it, rather than making side bets rigging games etc etc the reason they are not ashamed and truly sorry is they know they are still getting paid whether they play or not as they have multi million dollar contracts. like the old Australian saying goes keep the bastards honest! they are showing kids cheating is ok and they are showing them no remorse no class no honesty no true sportsmanship is acceptable all this and for a game that is constantly referred to a gentleman's game!
Sir Donald Bradman would be mortified disgusted and disgraced to see his beloved sport degraded and violated in such an unconscionable deplorable way.
no sporting body should be allowing this type of behavior to occur. If they uncover this type of behavior. A lifetime of banning mandatory and making them repay any money they have received and forfeit any rights they have to any compensation contractually deemed to be a breach of contract, that will make them more responsible for their actions and jail time too.
I would go as far as to include not only using performance enhancing drugs and illicit drugs too. If they don't have a moral code it is up to the sporting bodies to enforce one through seeking financial recompense and shaming them publicly and assisting police to convict such disgusting unacceptable unsporting and indecent inhuman behavior.
this is predominately why i stopped watching sports as i quickly got to learn it was an unfair playing field in any type of sports whether it was through money changing hands to match fixing to drugs and illicit drugs and underhanded tactics involved (it was never a good honest fun loving game anymore) so i turned off if more folks did it that they would see we don't condone this sort of behavior. But as the old saying goes "money talks and bullshit walks"
I for one an so disgusted and ashamed to be called an Australian today! this is behavior is so UN-Astralian and so deflective of being a decent human being.
