Adelaide calls for help from state government over 'near plague proportions' of Corellas



Thousands of noisy corellas in search of food are terrorising residents in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, wreaking havoc to street lights, signs and trees.

The local council has tried using everything from drones to pyrotechnics to disperse the birds, but now they are calling on the Environment Department to take charge.

Yes PJ it is and they are a f***G noisy assed bunch not to mention destructive critters worse than my rats and possums. The noise is deafening (one thinks it is the end of the world) the way they carry on Alf Stewart form home and away sums it up most "stop acting like a pack of flaming galahs " only these are cousins of them called corella's they leave devastation in their wake eating fruit leaves etc like flying piranhas JG they puts Mr Hitchcock's movie into the comedy category where is Bluey trying to take a picture of these guys during one of their raids
PJ the 1st picture you posted when i look at it the term "Kentucky fried corella" comes to mind that is just an accident waiting to happen

John, it didn't end well with 'The Birds' . . . or so I recall. The cockies on my front deck have multiplied since I last wrote . . .



Today Roger and I drove down the long driveway to the former private school here in Leura, to see what was happening there. No signs, but several of these structures have been erected. There's some talk that's it's a kind of 'Chinese Cultural Centre' that's run out of funding. Alessa, do you know what these things are called? There were 4-5 of them, next to the buildings.

ziffy... around here, we had a Deer problem. And they held a vote on whether they should try birth control on the Deer to keep their population down.
The real serious tree huggers didn't want that... so they came up with a poster of some moron trying to stick a condom on a deer... I wish I could find a copy of that on line... It was priceless.

I parked next to this cute little vehicle underneath the local Leura supermarket on my way back from acupuncture today. Looks like a fun car to use for local shopping, but am not sure if I'd like to be out on the 110 kph M4 motorway driving one . . .

I am going to physio this morning i am sore all over but more so between shoulders neck and head ache still then out to lunch then home.
PJ i haven't had time to play with my new toys i am always on the go and when i am home i am busy catching up on my tv shows. maybe after our Easter which is this weekend then watch the questions come in thick and fast oh those red things on the vacant land red is a color of luck and good fortune for the Chinese so it maybe some kind of blessing ceremony taking place before they build/break ground that would be my guess anyway.
