it reached 46 here yesterday. i am so thankful for our air conditioner. i literally don't know what i'd do without it. we've just turned it on again and it's not even 11am here yet. but it's already 33.1 according to my weatherzone app.

Good morning, everyone, and special commiserations to all the Aussies . . . matina and Katy and Star . . . regarding our current very hot weather. It's 'only' 28 degrees up here in the mountains as of 12 noon, but is supposed to reach 35 sometime today. Hot though it is in northern South Australia, I've heard that later this week it will nearly reach 50 degrees (122 degrees F) in parts of northern Western Australia, maybe in the Exmouth area, known for the semi-secret US Navy base and the RAAF airfield.

Hi to John and Ada, and of course br bear, Ice and Stretton in much cooler climes. Thanks to Diva for the contest notifications too.

I've noticed a steep decline in cockatoo numbers on my front deck, down to 10-15 or so. Maybe the hot weather does have some effect on them.

dont ask our power bills are enormous that is when we dont suffer black outs and climb into whats left of our frozen goods in the freezer and pack ourselves in.

Went over to Leura Mall today and had my mandatory first daily walk in air-conditioned comfort, at my local supermarket.

Now for my second walk during the relative cool of the evening . . . down to 23 degrees up here.
