Good morning, everyone! Autumn seems to have well and truly arrived up here in the Blue Mountains.

matina and Katy, hope things will start cooling off for you both. In fact, the temperature here is already 19 degrees, as of 10 am, so I guess we'll have a final burst of 'Indian Summer' for a while.

fox, last time both my grandchildren visited, we rode on the 'Skyway' vehicle, right across the Jamison Valley. I think They've been on it twice, come to think of it, and I rode the earlier, low-tech version many years ago.

Hello, everyone

Gorgeous pictures, Pj! Autumn is my favourite season. Of course, it'll be at least five month before we get a whiff of it here in Europe :) We've just entered into daylight savings time :?

I actually like the 'low-tech' version better. :) It looks almost steampunkish. Like something from the golden age of exploration and adventure :)

fox, that's it! I rode in the 'steampunk' version back in the 1970s, before I came to live in the Blue Mountains. In your pictures, my house is behind 'The Three Sisters' in the background. I seem recall that this ancient vehicle is now positioned at the entrance to Scenic World (which operates three different 'rides') as a kind of advertisement.

Katy, it's now 22 degrees up here . . . and I guess this will be the last 'summer' day for a while. It's supposed to get quite cool again after tomorrow.

Daylight Savings Time has ended! Got an extra hour's sleep last night and, in fact, just had a little afternoon nap for good measure! This means that I'm back on the same time as my son and his family up in Queensland. (QLD doesn't observe DST.)

'The World's Steepest Railway Line' is also part of the Scenic World attractions . . . probably the most famous. I also took the grandchildren here about two years ago. This is the third or fourth or fifth edition of the ride, which evolved from the original transport line that took coal and workers from the base of the plateau up to Katoomba, at the top. If my memory is correct, this new train was commissioned and built in Switzerland only 3-4 years ago.

Good morning, everyone!

My bushwalking friend was out and about yesterday, and sent me photos from the other side of Katoomba, overlooking the Megalong Valley. I've been to this forlorn but beautiful lookout several times in past years.

slynch, I had to look twice at the Yankees score when I got up this morning . . . 15-3 over the Orioles. Sounds like a football score. Yes, I do love the autumn as well.

matina and Katy, already up to 19 degrees this morning, as of 10 am. Last warm day for a while, I think.

This afternoon I see my GP and will get my latest blood test results. Am hoping that my iron levels are up again and that my thyroid is working OK. Never had any trouble all my life. Am blaming the side effects of eight different medications!

Anyhow, another beautiful and sunny day. Talked to my brother as usual on a Monday morning, and he's expecting the second snowstorm in a week. Might have some pictures of it soon.

Hi Everyone!!

That's really weird... here in Saskatchewan we don't observe the time changes... all the other provinces do... although every time it's that time of year, there's always a 'discussion' about it!!! The only way we can tell is some of our television channels get shifted an hour, since they originate elsewhere...

Ummm... I thought the world changed clocks on the same day... stupid of me, I guess...  Canada changed ours back on March 10th and DST ends on Nov. 3rd... why do the Aussie politicians want it delayed, what is the benefit? :? :?
