Hi, MiaJohn. The great thing about visiting CC&BC is that no matter what time of the year you visit, even in the middle of the winter, the temperature is always exactly the same as it is at your house! (Tonight it's supposed to go down to -2 degrees here, but my brother thinks this is quite mild, because -30 degree temperatures occur at his house during the winter.) And in the summer, matina can tell you what it's like to enjoy 45 degree temperatures . . .

Good morning, everyone. Very quiet at CC&BC except for Diva's little broomstick cat! Yesterday I found out that we had an 'Indigenous Lives Matter' protest march over in Katoomba . . . several hundred people . . . but I entirely missed it. Everything was peaceful.

Katy, I haven't gone anywhere at all today . . . just stayed inside and took a few photos from the front and back decks. Swept out the garage and did some laundry as well. Yes, I remember back in the 1970s when most nurseries in the Dural area had pet cockies in cages, with graphic warning signs about possible bites! No occupational health and safety worries in those days. So I wear my rubber shoes when I go out amongst them and take care. I know they mean no harm, but can pack a powerful bite when looking for food. That 'landing rosella' was a lucky shot, but didn't quite show how red he/she was.

matina, hope you're enjoying your long weekend. Have been on the phone to my brother and his daughter. His wife was discharged from the hospital again, but now has to use a feeding tube for 3-6 weeks, because she lost five pounds (2.3 kg) in a few days and also still has a mild infection. Presently she weighs less than 44 kg.

Its a lovely cold winters day ,so I'm making chicken and vege soup in my new slow cooker my daughter gave me my hubby is baking a sponge cake, yeah i dont bake my stuff tends to come out a bit like rocks

My granddaughter has been visiting her other grandfather, and found quite a few wallabies to feed!

matina, hope you're OK. Last day of our long weekend. Did you get out to see family and friends?

Katy, there's one particular cockie I always have to watch. He/she waits just where the sliding door opens, and tries to grab the big 'wild bird seed' bag in my hand. Failing that, he/she grabs my foot! So I always have seeds ready to throw down on the deck, to create a diversion! My brother's wife is back home from her second (one night) stay in hospital and is now on a feeding tube 24/7. She just lost too much weight and was down to only 44 kg. 8 degrees here at 1 pm, after a cold and drizzly night . . . another beautiful winter's day in the mountains.

Friends in New Zealand happily report that all virus restrictions have been lifted there . . . apart from the closure of the international border to flights and ships. I think 'only' 22 people died there since the pandemic began. So life is back to normal for them. I was just over to Katoomba this morning and notice that things in the shops are partway back to normal there, and everyone seems a lot less tense.



Waiting for man to come and clean my gutters and downpipes at 3 pm. Will be relieved to get this done.
