diva hope you are well.
been stressful night my uncle in Greece was taken to hospital with fluid around his heart and a pulmonary embolism to the lung. he was at deaths door but thankfully die to the quick medical attention he got and the medication to help him he is out of danger and walking around on his own esteem they predict a full recovery but needs to be kept in hospital for a few more days to see how he is progressing and to make sure there are no other clots.
It sure as hell is never ever dull in my family.
on that note time to entertain mother with a movie or 3 so catch you all later.

i have been busy on the phone again it never ends and to be honest if you don't have money to part pay for services you are stuffed, but you still need to jump through the hoops, i dont know why i bother sometimes the information they need collect etc etc only to be told you have to pay for services i am just swamping myself with paperwork. with no real relief i am so OVER THIS CRAP!
PJ hope you and the girls are well pm me i am sorry i haven't had the time to pm you in person hope your sister in law is recovering nicely. and your brother is doing well too. my regards to your very hard working son. be safe and god bless you all

Greetings to everyone . . . nearly 50 cockatoos here this morning, but all gone now . . . Rishi is keeping watching watch on a lone crimson rosella, and making little squeaking noises . . .

matina, very sorry to hear about your uncle, so far away, but wonderful that he got good medical care and has recovered. I well know the feeling with distant relatives who are ill. My brother's wife still isn't gaining weight and has to keep her feeding tube going 24/7. I'm waiting to hear if the new medication helps. It's supposed to stimulate her appetite. My brother will resume his fortnightly chemo tomorrow. I'm going to phone his niece at about 11:30 tonight, timing the call for just after his appointment with his oncologist.

Katy, yes, another absolutely glorious day up here in the mountains as well. Up to 11 degrees now and a bit breezy. Sunnya was sun-baking out on the back patio this morning, with her very fluffy winter coat. One year has certainly zoomed right by, hasn't it? It's a bit scary . . .

Yellow, nice to see your photo in SMY today.

These cockatoos are so tame now that I can walk right up to them while they're eating. Most take no notice of me, so long as i don't make an sudden moves . . .

matina, just received this photo from my brother's oldest son, my nephew, who took it from the front deck of my brother's house, where I often sat during July, 2017, watching the ocean and the National Park in the distance. No major change in my brother's wife's condition. Tele-appointment today and specialist says she has to keep up the IV feeding tube. I think she's getting discouraged after three years of my brother's cancer treatment, and now this. But she has a devoted daughter looking after her and a very supportive family.

Katy, am being careful with 'my' birds but do enjoy taking closeup pictures. As soon as the seed hits the deck or the feeding table, they take no notice of me whatsoever! 9 degrees and rainy today and I had a little outing to Leura to have a cappuccino with my friend from Lithgow. He's happily resumed his train outings, now that the electric line is fully operational again. However, seating is limited, due to the virus. Hope that changes soon. Thanks for your good wishes and prayers for my brother and his wife.

Electrician arrived early this morning and did five small jobs that I've been saving up. Then I had my outing. So now I'm seriously thinking of a nice afternoon nap!

matina, below am posting another summery photo from my brother, showing a new building, a kind of shed, that's he's building next to his house, to replace an old building. A young guy is bringing the various parts, and then my brother will finish it up, probably with the help of one or more of his sons.

Katy, sorry, missed that you had ear trouble. Hope it's all better soon. Not much sun up here this morning and the temperature has struggled to get up to 9 degrees. Feels colder. Took up the month-long 'free trail of home delivery' offer by Woolies and got my 'heavy things' delivered yesterday, including a number of 10 kg bags of bird seed, for you-know-who! A nice Sikh man left them on my veranda . . . same man as previously . . . and gave me a cheery wave as he left. I think the delivery comes all the way from Lithgow. Yes, my brother has a picture post card view, alright. It's kind of bleak during the winter, but amazing during the summer.

update my uncle is still in Greece is still in hospital another old friend and neighbour is in hospital too here in Adelaide suffered an mild heart attack and he has leukemia too
I fear this is all the news we will get from now on
Just got home from shopping and delivered some groceries to my aunty.

Sorry to hear that news about your family, matina. Yes, as the years go on, this is what we can expect. Very sad. But I'm very grateful that I seem to have recovered, at least for the moment . . . and I have two really incredible fuzzies!

Another quiet day here it's lovely sitting in the sun, matina I'm having lunch with my daughter today shes bringing something nice i hope it's just so sad to hear of others health problems I pray that they get well soon Hugs bless you Good morning Pj my ear ache is not important but thank you, i keep thinking of your brother and his wife and what they are going thru my aches and pains are nothing A very cold morning I think it was 2c it's so much colder here than what we're used to I also got the Woolies 30 day home delivery trial my daughter was very happy to use it saves her going to the shops she always so busy well time for another coffee , I hope all our regulars are safe and well

matina, trust that you're OK today. Lots and lots and lots of cockies this morning, with a few crimson rosellas waiting in the wings, to pick up the odd seed later . . .

Katy, yes, I guess that's part of the ageing process . . . we start losing those close to us. We have to try to stay positive and enjoy our children and grandchildren. My own son reports that he's now checking on koalas at D'Aguilar National Park, west of Brisbane. Have not yet heard how many have needed to be rescued. At least he's back in Queensland, but I don't know how he and the team avoided quarantine. I thought that 30 day free delivery deal was too good to miss. Now I don't have to carry heavy bags for a while! Cold night here but up to 12 now . . . feels colder . . . but a beautiful winter's day.

I should have taken photos of the gutter cleaning guy this morning. Have now had termite inspection, electrical work done, gutters cleaned, and am nearly caught up on two to three years worth of maintenance.
