One of my recent front deck visitors . . . It's been very windy today, so not a single cockie has showed up. The rosellas enjoyed all the seeds. There were more than 30 of them here at one time . . . Fuzzies enjoyed their closeup ornithology . . .

I forgot to clean my glasses today, so everything has been very blurry again. I couldn't quite make out the most recent CC&BC pictures, but wonder if I should just leave my glasses a bit smudgy, so as to avoid any unwanted shocks. My doctor has my blood pressure medication very carefully balanced . . .

matina and Katy, we're lucky to have retained a few 'real' bookshops up here in the upper mountains . . . Megalong Books located right here in Leura, plus one used bookshop in Wentworth Falls and two more in Katoomba. Sure hope they survive.

Have been out to Katoomba today to see my Lithgow bushwalking friend. We had cappuccino at the Savoy and he told me about his adventures on Tuesday, with a mutual friend of about the same age. At one point he got his leg caught in a large, concealed wombat hole and it took him a while to extricate himself. He got a big bruise on his hip, but nothing too serious. This was down in the lower mountains, near Glenbrook.

Diva and Jeanette . . . always good to hear from you. Hi to Blue and FreezeMe too.

Might sign off now and have a short nap . . . bye!

Allow me to apologise for the typo   this year is messing with all my senses, including those that regulate spelling. It's 29°C outside, any drink other than water can only be dreamed about, so cheers to the notion of making the heat wave pass asap.

Not to worry, Jeanette. Since I didn't clean my glasses, I entirely missed it . . .

Lots of cockatoos arrived today, now that the wind has dropped a bit. Counted up to 35 before I gave up . . . Crimson rosellas and a single topknot pigeon waited around to pick up the scraps.

matina, hope you're well today. Am still waiting for pictures from Maine.

Katy, hope your shopping trip goes well. Very beautiful day up here today . . . up to 8 degrees now. My friend often goes out alone, so that's why we all worry about him. He carries a personal beacon in his backpack for emergencies, but we wonder if he could reach it if he got in trouble. Anyhow, his friend is 'only' 65 and is an SES volunteer and an abseiling instructor, so he was in good hands!

Hi to Diva and Jeanette and Blue.

matina, you've probably already seen this Toby's Oats commercial, where the Scottish father and son have such strong accents that they can't even understand each other . . .

well i am chasing kathy
yes Victoria is acting like petulant children they wanted to go & protest black lives matter during a global pandemic (what did they think would happen) in my humble opinion all lives matter! there is no place for excessive force or brutality from the people who are there to protect us it is just unconscionable on all fronts whether it be police military doctors nurses nursing home staff and carers etc
what worries me is that a lot of folks are saying it is a global government farce and that covid 19 isn't real and it is a conspiracy to lock us all down into compliance. (what government do you know would want to cough up billions of dollars to keep people home and pay for testing and forgo reaping in billions and billions of dollars through taxation imports exports etc) answer NONE!!!
my fear is that this is the new norm now with a lot more of different pandemics. already there is another one in china of a new swine flu pandemic that is super contagious https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53218704 :? :? :? very distressing times :( :( :(
future generations will forget how to show affection for one another is a bigger issue with most already showing signs of social awkwardness through the heavy use of social media and no real human interaction most on dates sit opposite each other typing to one another instead of talking to each other now in Japan most have a virtual partner instead of a real onehttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/nov/20/japan-stranded-singles-virtual-love
lord help us all (well at least till they invent real life robots to fill the void)    must have humor in tough times    Robin Williams in bicentenary man pops into mind :? :? he wasn't that far off (except he wanted to become a real human after all that)
