Late getting around to checking in today, and must hurry, because I have two visitors arriving at 4 pm.

matina, yes, those were sunflowers behind Rishi, who almost never sleeps on the dining room table . . . And both of my fuzzies are micro-chipped. Hope you're feeling OK today.

PS Jeanette good-luck with the laptop! a new cord isn't that much so try that before the battery i always leave mine plugged into power i lost one laptop by working on it while i wasnt plugged in i got the warning of low battery (when i left to go to the toilet) it was doing an update damn thing died as when i returned the power had gone off and when i plugged it back in i got nadda! so i learned my lesson

matina, glad you had a good day and your dinner sounds good! Have just had a nice dinner myself, and Rishi is once again sleeping on my knees just behind my laptop computer screen. (Sunnya is over by the fire, also having an evening nap.)

Yes, the sunflower was real, but it's all faded and gone now. I took the printer to 'Inkorama' in Katoomba but Harry wasn't there. His wife looked it over and felt the same as me . . . it should work. So I left it with her and Harry will get back to me in a few days. It's about 7-8 years old, but very little used.

Visitors have come and gone. They were a retired couple who drove up all the way from Sutherland. They've rented a nice room in the 'High Mountains' motel and have a view out over the Jamison Valley. They showed me a photo.

Fire is now going and I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home, with a some good reading.

It's a quiet day at home, we may try and book for lunch at the club but the hours are staggered so only so many people are allowed in the food court area, my daughter and the kids waited an hour just to sign in to the club so i don't know if it's worth it I can't stand up for too long it's just hard to get used too when you would normally just walk in oh well this is the new normal i guess Matina have a lovely lunch with your aunty, hugs always xo Hi Pj looks like we are in for a week of rain according to the news, very cloudy lots of fog this morning 16c today I hope you are ok diva, Ada Jeanette Kristina and all our regulars be safe

Hi, everyone. Was just out in the driveway talking to my neighbour, who is a few years old than I am. She's a retired landscaper and always brings me a wheelbarrow load of sticks and twigs after she's cleaned up her yard, to help me start my nightly fires. Her husband will be 99 next month. He's a World War II vet and I've had many enjoyable talks with him over the past ten years or so. He's a retired architect and served with the Royal Australian Navy during the war in the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, while seconded to the Royal Navy.

matina, how are you doing today? Will wait to hear from you when you check in. Maybe you're had a nice lunch. Am hoping for more news from my brother and his wife soon.

Katy, we had a bit of rain overnight up here, but not much. It's up to 11 degrees right now, and cloudy. While I was talking to my neighbour, I felt a few raindrops on my head, but it's stopped now. The last couple of times I went to cafes in Leura and Katoomba, I was lucky and got seated immediately. Hoping very much that the Victorian situation doesn't move north.

Some of you may have noticed the slight blackish swelling under Rishi's right eye this morning. I immediately resumed her previous eye drops and talked to the local vet nurse (who specialises in cats). She thought that the wood fire, and being in a very dry environment all night might have caused it. Anyhow, after three treatments Rishi's eye is now 100% normal!

A very wet day here unlike diva who looks to be enjoying some sun, every days a good day for reading matina I'm currently having a Christine Feehan marathon I just love her books sending love and hugs your way Good morning Pj In my working days at what was then The Repatriation Hospital at Concord, I was lucky enough to talk to a lot of veterans sometimes they would happily tell you their stories some weren't so willing as it was painful memories you feel incredibly humble in their presence and grateful too 16c raining so I'll just laze on the couch with a book, I hope you and the family are doing well

Hi, matina. Overnight I received a few photos from Maine, showing where my brother was working on Friday. He's been mowing more fields, as usual, even though it's been wrecking his back. One of his young casual workers was arrested Friday morning by the local Deputy Sheriff (long story) so his son is short-staffed now. My brother always works alone so as to minimise contact with anyone. I encouraged him to phone the nearby 'pain clinic' to get another appointment. Hope you're looking ahead to a good weekend.

Katy, rain stopped up here sometime this morning. We didn't really get too much. And now the temperature has made its way up to 9 degrees . . . sun coming in and out. I think I'm going to drive up to North Leura this afternoon and pick up some spring water. I can get there in less than 10 minutes. I must be getting better because over the past few months I can carry the water bottles up the embankment much more easily, and the job doesn't tire me out at all. Hope you enjoy your reading today!

sorry it has been so busy around here. delivered some groceries to my auntie yesterday.
today i am just relaxing cooking and getting some books i want.
kathy sorry to hear about your ordeal with going to your local club cant you ring in advance and tell them you have mobility issues?? so they let you come in and sit down.
PJ cant wait to hear more news from the family in Maine i hope your brother looks after himself. rishi is looking better hugs to the girls.
