Thunderstorm up here . . . with lots of hail . . . so I unplugged my modem and did some reading instead. Has stopped now and is very foggy. Had a rare but very brief visit by a pair of beautiful rainbow lorikeets.

matina, will write soon. Am going to phone my brother again this evening. No new news from my scientist son and his koalas.

Katy, Rishi's eye looks normal now. I've been told that spending hours in front of a wood fire can dry you out. I usually only start the fire about 7 pm, so have the full day to get things back to normal.

Yesterday I took my usual very short trip up to North Leura to get some spring water, and discovered that some people are leaving little trinkets and good luck charms in the tree just above the spring. In the past, someone had deposited a little New Testament, with a page marked that referred to a 'life-giving spring' . . .

Katy, sunny this morning but the clouds are rolling in now, and it's getting foggy. We had two short thunderstorms yesterday afternoon, and I had to unplug the modem. Fuzzies are just fine. They seem to be in 100% good health these days and are eating well. When there are thunderstorms, they both hide under the stairs!

Hi to warez. Yes, the ordinary flu is more dangerous than people realise. It just doesn't seem to make the news. Anyhow, I'm staying away from people as much as possible and getting some of my groceries delivered to my house.

Top photo isn't one of the best, because of the reflections, but the rainbow lorikeets fly off if you get too close to them. None seen around here for many months now. For some unknown reason, they seem to arrive with the rain.

It's babysitting today, well I guess they aren't babies anymore, but their parents are both working from home and it's hard to keep kids quiet when zoom meetings are on Hi Pj we are right in the middle of this new virus outbreak The crossroads hotel is not far from here, lots of travellers pass thru there, it's a real concern that we may be back in lockdown, it doesn't bother me ,but I just hope that panic buying doesn't start again Its good to hear that the kittens are well, look after yourself Pj

Hi, matina . . . Had a couple of talks with my niece last night, and also talked with my brother and his wife. My niece is getting all their appointments sorted out and organising changes in medication. For some unknown reason, my brother was taking the wrong BP medicine. I really wonder how this could have happened. And now he's taking more pain meds for his continuing, very severe back pain. Long story. More later . . .

Katy, I thought you must be living fairly near the Crossroads. Of course, even among the numbers of people who are testing positive, only a tiny fraction actually get sick, and an even smaller percentage are hospitalised. I've quoted here earlier the studies I read, one also quoted by the ABC, that no-one picks up the virus in outdoor, open spaces . . . it's always transmitted in enclosed areas . . . pubs, clubs, buses, etc., especially when you're there for an extended period of time, for a couple of hours. Even in the supermarket or chemist (my own most common 'outings') you stand little chance of picking anything up if you're quickly in and out. Anyhow, you'll be busy today, with the grandchildren running rampant in your house!

Yes, the fuzzies are quite well and Rishi seems much more active these days. And she frequently jumps up in my lap for scratches or to have a nap. She's also put on quite a lot of weight . . .

Thank you Pj for that information on the virus, it's just a worry when we had no cases in this area now we're all over the news The wrong bp meds for your brother how could that happen , was his bp controlled on them take care of you and the girls matina one more day with the kids then I'm free, I hope your doing ok

Here's the last of my three cloud photos . . . can't believe how well they turned out.

matina, hope all is going well today. My brother and his wife are in the middle of various medical appointments, so I'm waiting for more news. My own health is pretty good now, I'm happy to report. Dentist says one of my old crowns needs replacement, so I'll have to have that done in a month or two.

Katy, guess you're busy with the grandchildren. That's an experience I've rarely had, since my own two grew up in Western Australia and Queensland. Never had to do any baby-sitting! Yes, I'm going with the virus statistics . . . only a small percentage of us may actually get the virus, and then only a small percentage of those will get really sick. But it's still a worry. Going by the Spanish Flu of a century ago, it may just peter out, eventually. Hope so.

sorry for my absence been a grueling few days for me. don't worry I am ok.
Kathy thank you for always being the voice of reason when i end up in the deep end of stuff. please Just watch that coffee consumption will you.
be safe i worry that your so close to those folk who are testing positive. the biggest issue is complacency but what the government should do is bring in a lot of stock so we can buy 3 months of food and medication do a total lock down it will have to die off then but there are always folks breaking the rules and then they pass it on to someone else so it remains active if we cant do the right thing on our own then if the virus is killing folks off at a rapid rate i wont put it passed them to martial law our buts into a quarantine situation. however here in south Australia we have done very well
PJ sad to hear about your brothers medication issues i hope they sort that out asap. glad to hear rishi is doing so well. good luck with the dental work always a costly business
