https://www.drugs.com/tizanidine.html

matina, I finally found out what my brother was prescribed for his severe back pain. It's known generically as Tizanidine, sold in the US under the name Zanaflex. It's not a narcotic and my brother refused to take Oxycontin, which was the doctor's first choice. Now he can sleep at night. Everyone thinks he should give up heavy work at his age, but I know it's his therapy. Am so relieved to hear the latest news from my niece and am now waiting for the further feedback from the radiation oncologist in Boston, who had the previous MRI scan. Glad you enjoyed that barbecue lunch!

matina, sorry I couldn't give you a useful tip for an alternative for back pain. My brother was spelling it out to me, time and again, but Google didn't come through until I included the words 'muscle relaxant.' Seems to work well for him, though. Waiting now for more feedback on his mysterious MRI results. My own MRI results, months before I discovered that I was suffering from angina, were thought to show all kinds of arthritis-related problems in my neck. So you never know . . . Two tractor photo arrived from Maine overnight . . . very warm and sultry there.

Katy, hope you have the same sunny winter's day we're enjoying up here. Had my breakfast out on the back deck again and it was nice and warm in the sun . . . thermometer showing 11 degrees now. Am sure you'll enjoy your granddaughter's birthday tomorrow.

Hello everyone

Enjoying a good Sunday here..
Weather is still rainy, no much sun up here..

Hope all are staying good too :D

Matina here comes your peanut butter cookies(with chocolate chips!!!!)
Basically, you combine the first three ingredients — peanut butter, sugar and egg — in a bowl and beat it up until combined. It'll be like creamy.
(Since my pb good too long in fridge, had to heat it up as the butter separated :? )
Add in those chocolate chips, and stir until it's kinda uniformly spread. (make sure you chill it, or it'll mix up with the rest)
Then roll the dough into balls, and place on a baking sheet.Use your fingers to flatten each dough ball a bit, since they won’t really rise when baking
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, until the cookies are just slightly browned on the bottom, being careful not to over-bake.

As CC&BC regulars know, I recently had a long talk with Rishi and came to an agreement that she'll no longer get up on the dining room table, except in extreme circumstances, such as when flies need to be caught, and then no more often than 3-4 times a day, approximately. However, occasionally Rishi becomes overtired from too much sleeping . . . I mean, from too much fly chasing . . . and so passes out spontaneously. In these cases there's not much more I can do except to snap a few photos.

matina, hope you're enjoying MiaJohn's cookies. My doctor warns me against them, although I know that he also enjoys peanut butter cookies . . . or even Tim Tams!

Katy, hope you're enjoying your family barbecue just about now. It's a lovely, sunny day up here in the mountains . . . about 15 degrees. Warmest day in a week. I'm going to take a walk later this afternoon.

Waiting to hear at 2:30 pm about the latest Victorian stage 4 lockdown. Am sure this will have ramifications for NSW, even though we have absolutely nothing like the number of 'positive tests' being reported down south. Have my mask ready for my next shopping trip to Leura Mall, although I may just take advantage of a home delivery from Woolworth's. Got my scripts filled yesterday, so am OK in that regard for a while. Whew!

Hi to Diva and Blue.

Have been enjoying spectacular sunsets . . .

EDIT . . . Breaking news from Victoria is that the stage 4 lockdown (extreme) restrictions will begin at 6 pm. 'State of Emergency' will give way to a 'State of Disaster' situation, which I didn't even know existed. Sounds like the last step before martial law . . . Waiting now to hear what our state of NSW will do . . .

Hello, everyone. I'm running a bit late today, but all is well.

matina, will write more about my brother and his wife when I get more news about the MRI comparison from their daughter. She's the one who really knows all the details. I talked to my brother on Sunday night, which is Sunday morning their time.

Katy, am including a couple of closeups of Rishi's scrunchy face, which is easy to photograph since she's now sleeping on my lap so often. Glad you enjoyed your weekend. I have to make the effort to keep up my walking, because otherwise my legs tend to get very stiff. I don't think it's arthritis but in any case it's not too bad.

peaceableone, I remember how excited I was back in the late 1950s and early 1960s when the US (and Russian) space programs began. I got involved in model rockets around that time and traveled with a 'science fair' exhibition that involved model rockets. Those were the days! And of course I well remember the evening (I was visiting with my then girlfriend in Washington DC) when Neil Armstrong stepped out on the moon.

John, good to see you here. Am pleased to be able to follow the Yankees for at least another 50 games or so. My delivery guy turned up at my door the other day wearing an NYY baseball cap. When I commented on it, he told me that he'd actually visited Yankee Stadium. Wonder of wonders here in Oz! (My father grew up in the Bronx, almost next door to the old Yankee Stadium.)

Hi to Diva and Blue and Virginia and MiaJohn too.
