matina, how are you doing? Hope you feel better today. Quiet here except for my many cockatoos. Lots of magpies and currawongs out on the back deck too. Planning to spend the day indoors, because it's fairly cold and a bit rainy. What would be do without our books?
Katy, just checked my thermometer and it's up to 7 degrees now. Has been getting down near zero at night and is supposed to be colder up here for the next few days/nights. Not really raining right now, but everything is damp and it feels a bit miserable outside. Sunnya has been sitting on the heating vent of the central heating, which is a sure sign that it's cold! Very nice and heart-warming story of your granddaughter and her friend the librarian! Haven't as yet read all the Sunday morning news, but it looks like we've had even more positive covid cases and that the big Sydney lockdown probably won't end on Friday. Anyhow, hope you and your family will stay well. Am now due for my second cup of plunger Lavazza!

hello to all those i may have missed and the usual suspects who come here be safe and god bless and be with you all.

matina, all OK here. Hope the same for you. Had a chat with my brother last night, while an old high school friend was visiting him. Both are 70 years old, but of course I picture his longtime friend as a skinny little 8 year old! Time does fly . . . Fed my cockatoos twice and am now settling back for my second cup of Lavazza.
Katy, not quite so cold this morning, so I sat out in the sun in the backyard for a while, accompanied by Sunnya for part of the time. But it was just a bit too cool to stay long . . . now up to 11 degrees . . . warmest day for a week. Firewood is supposed to arrived tomorrow and I'll need it . . . I usually keep the fires going through September, at least. Glad to hear that you're enjoying your reading and 'at home' time. I never bake scones or make brownies, but I do have some nice things to eat around the house! Yes, this lockdown shows no signs of ending, does it?. In the US, they'd think we're doing very well indeed right now, because in my brother's mainly rural state they were recording hundreds of positive PCR tests daily, plus several deaths. Happily, for my brother and his family, those figures are getting better during their summer, and his state government thinks the worst is over. ('Only' 29 cases and one death over there yesterday). Sigh. Anyhow, back to my books and Lavazza . . . Stay well!

matina, hope all is OK with you today. At least you don't have the usual SA hot weather to worry about! Coolish here but not as cold as yesterday. Vet rang and told me about the new procedure for Rishi this afternoon. I park out front and phone them. They unlock the door and then I pass Rishi through! Then I wait until the checkup is finished and they pass Rishi back out to me again. Whew! One of the vet nurses then comes to the car with the credit card machine for payment . . .
Katy, I peeked through my fingers first, and then lowered my eyes to read the text. Until I have my final eye doctor checkup next week, I don't want to subject my new lenses to any shocking sights, especially Scottish ones. It's just not worth it. So glad you can watch those gardeners. Must be a peaceful sight. No, my own farmers down in Hartley Valley haven't stopped working either. I'm just now waiting for my weekly delivery. Veggies and animals don't stop for the covid! 8 degrees up here right now, after a 2 degree night, but it feels warmer. Sat out in the sun for a short time this morning.
Diva, what a great picture! Must get to my Lavazza now. And thanks again for all the contest notifications.

all OK here the family are doing well with home schooling, as you can see the teenager is enjoying a bit of exercise
still eats like a horse can't fill him up
hugs xo Hi Pj did rishi feel being handed over to the vet is she ok
I suppose it's the only safe way to get her checked with these covid rules in place,
Oh well another 2 weeks lockdown, I need to restock my coffee supply they didn't include it in my grocery order the other day so hubby's going out to get it the Coles lady will have it waiting at the counter so just pick up and go
look after yourself and the girls

Yay! The potholes in front of my house were fixed this morning! I used my little SnapSolve app to report them, and a week later the job is done. They even sent me a real paper letter thanking me and promising to fix them.
matina, hope you're feeling better today. Let us know when you can.
Katy, what a great photo! So wonderful when kids are out and about and off the computers. I sure do pity the parents, now that our lockdown is due to be extended. I'm assuming that will include continuing school closures in NSW. Must now read the morning news more carefully with my second cup of Lavazza. Yes, Rishi got an excellent report from her vet yesterday and was handed back safely, through the doorway. Her blood iron was 'high normal' and her weight was up to 3.7 kg. So now she's been reduced again on her steroid, and only needs another blood test in six weeks. She's acting really well, and eating well.
8 degrees right now, but it's windy and feels colder. Strangely, not a single cockie has turned up on my front deck so far today . . . nor a single rosella. What's going on?

HELLO ALL!
Chiro did help out (god bless him) bad back spasms that affected my sciatica and right hop so i was seized up. sent home after a good seeing to and told rest and antiinflamatories as many as i am allowed to take (which i can imagine how bad it is) as he never likes his patients to take these type of medications. I fell asleep for 2 hours after the chiro appointment and had lunch and dosed myself up again and had another 2 hours of sleep. at least i slept better last night. today i have had only 2 advil and later i will have norgesic and more advil before bed tonight. the pain is tolerable so i wont complain.
today was a busy morning cleaner was here then the new provider for mum's care package was here. we signed her up so that's all done and dusted.
I then had to deal with telstra for Satan's phone service as they were increasing it and i rang them and said he doesn't need internet and not to increase it I got a nice chap who was able to reduce Satan's account to $42 a month down from $75 he removed the internet part of the account since he doesn't use it. this wasn't available when we had to switch over to nbn.
I now have a couple of calls to make before getting settled on the couch for the rest of the afternoon.
diva that looks yummy YES PLEASE! THANK YOU again for all the contest notifications.bless you.
Kathy as long as they are staying out of trouble. I don't know how your daughter is able to do it all. god bless her.
hello to all the other regulars may god bless and be with you all

matina, thanks for all the news. You sure got a lot done today! Especially good that your mother's new care provider is signed up now. And also that you've had some relief from your hip pain. Been there, done that, and am so grateful not to be experiencing it any more. Hope the same for you, very soon!
Finally had my firewood delivered at about 3 pm, just as I was getting worried, and now the fuzzies and I are enjoying a blazing fire on a cold and windy night. Very cosy!
Good night, everyone . . .
