Here's my nice pile of firewood! It was delivered late yesterday afternoon, just before dark.

matina, hope all goes well today. Keep us posted. Sending lots of good wishes. Had a talk with my brother last night and all is well there. He's in his two week period with no chemo.

Katy, yes, it was a relief to get such a good report on Rishi. Found old photos of her as a kitten, when she was known as 'Rishi Panda' instead of Rishikesh! I'm now hoping that her good health will continue after the steroid is reduced further. She's down to about a quarter of her original dose now. Sunnya is good too, and only needs a tooth cleaning down the track.

Alessa, always good to hear from you. Hope you're in good health.

Bye for now, everyone . . .

HELLO ALL!
PJ I certainly do not envy you the tsk of hauling that inside nor do i like cleaning out the heater either did that for many years it was expensive and far too much work to do. Very good news on both rishis improvement and your brothers prognosis too i am glad he is doing ok, it is a credit to your nieces and nephews doing such a great job in supporting him.
Kathy yes loving the cold weather i don't like hearing about the heat that Europe is having at the moment because i know it will head our way soon enough too soon for my liking id like it to be winter all year round. nothing above 15 is just glorious for me.;-)
well i wanted it to be a do absolutely nothing day but it has turned out i had to renew car insurance and registration and i also changed my mobile phone plan for $5 cheaper than i have now with all the benefits plus and extra 6gb of data. so $35 for 36GB including unlimited calls including 13 &1300 numbers and texts and mms messages in Australia unlimited international standard texts including 200 minutes of international calls to 35 countries only international mms messages are .75 cents with DODO.
now i have to fix a friends hard drive Satan duty tomorrow. ahhh no rest for this very wicked wolf.
yesterday went well signed up with a provider so that is sigh of relief now begin the last minute stuff and until they get the ball rolling with assigning a coordinator for mums package and start services.
so now it is time to get some rest before the rest of my day is deleting and transferring files on my hard drive and my friends.
be safe everyone and god bless and be with you all. hello diva alessa thank you for contest notifications and JG whom has forgotten us all. Fatima i hope all is well with you and the fury ones. feel free to post.
I am better at least i can move with minimum pain and without hanging onto the wall for support seeing chiro next week. I am off the pain relief too give my liver a break for today

A few years back, my scientist son took this drone photo of the famous Mt. Solitary/Korowal from behind . . . a very unsual view. According to local conspiracies, this is the site of the secret Australian/American/UFO base! My house is out of the shot, to the far right and behind.

matina, good to hear all this news. You certainly keep busy!

Diva, thanks again for all the contest notifications!

Fire going, 'gourmet pizza' delivered, fuzzies well . . . good night, everyone . . .

Wild bursts of showers on and off this morning . . . sunny for a while, and then the wind and rain hit! Fortunately, the fuzzies and I are safe and warm inside . . .

matina, the time may come when the wood wears me out, but so far the enjoyment of having a fire outweighs all the work. I know someone who got a kind 'fake' gas fireplace, with fake wood which has gas jets with real fire. He says it saves him a lot of work! I still have a few financial arrangements to sort out, but so far am getting things done one by one, usually one paperwork job per day.

Katy, only 5 degrees here right now . . . almost 1 pm . . . and blowing a gale. Half an hour ago it was bright and sunny. My chimney repair man from Richmond cancelled out . . . weather too unpredictable. Very hard to get fireplace and chimney repair work done in the mountains during the winter . . . so I'm told. Here we're out of range for Uber Eats and MenuLog, so we can only have deliveries from Dominos and this new Leura place, Sublime Pizza. I took them up on their new promotion . . . free delivery to everyone in surrounding suburbs. Hmmmm. Maybe I'll start a nice fire . . . sure seems like the day for it.

Hi to Diva and Fatima and Alessa . . .

HELLO ALL!
Satan duty is over! Kathy thank you for being the voice of reason and always on standby. It's greatly appreciated.
PJ we have a massport gas heater with exactly what you described Image(this is my exact model picture) but i love the cold it doesn't get that cold enough for me to use it. It does look great when it is on. however a blanket for the legs on the couch is good enough for me with my robe and im ok. if it is cold and the air im breathing is crisp i may turn it on for about 20 minutes just to take the edge off but then i turn it off i have only had it on 3 times so far this winter mostly at mothers persistent nagging. It is much more convenient.
alessa diva thank you for contest notifications. hello bear ice JG Fatima i hope everyone is well. we have been watching a tv series called Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner nice show set in Montana OMG what a beautiful magical stunning place it is. It just takes your breath away. truly human beings are the total destruction of everything beautiful and pure. (my only regret is i may never ever get the chance to ever see/experience it in person) definitely going on my bucket list.
we had a nice glass of glayva whiskey last night soothed a scratchy throat. all good today.
had a long day driving shopping and visiting mums sister.
now time for a coffee and rest on the couch.

Good day, everyone!

It’s been pretty hot at 36C here and I’ve had my AC on 24/7. Feeling nervous about the electrical bill I’ll have to pay in next cycle :?

I’m finally getting my first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine tomorrow. Normally, only people 65+ yrs old can get vaccinated without being on the waiting list, but recently they allowed people 50+ and people with chronic diseases to sign up for it too. Luckily (rather unluckily in my case) I have Psoriasis and Type 2 diabetes so my petition for the vaccine was approved earlier. Schools are all closed and the government is requiring all teachers to be vaccinated before returning to work. So far, the date is set to July 26. That’s a tentative date since they have already pushed the date several times.

Kathy, you’re a trooper and I’m sure your daughter appreciates the help with the kids. I wish we could have some of your cold weather. We’re right in the middle of Summer and it won’t cool down until the end of October :(
Pjm, I’m liking your beautiful pictures :) I hope your wood fireplace keeps all of you and the cute fuzzies warm for a long time. Needless to say, I appreciate my AC unit in this terrible weather. I think we need a typhoon.
matina, how’s your throat now? Doctors usually recommend cutting down on alcohol and beverages with caffeine when you have a cough or sore throat. I stick to herbal tea when that happens.

alessa if i have a sore throat i get stuck into the fireball whiskey it kills most things in its tracks
Please don't mention the hot weather i am pretending it will never come :? well one can hope (and yes i am the Witch Queen of Narnia) where eternal winter is just what i want!!  well at the very least our winter where things can still grow
I wish you goodluck with your covid shot is it Astra Zeneca or Pfizer? keep us updated on your symptoms please. be safe and god bless you always.

matina, above is an advertising photo of my own beloved Canadian-made Osburn 2200 Masterguard slow combustion stove. In fact, it's blazing away right in front of me as I type. Nearby (here in my house) is the empty pizza box from last night, and Sunnya and Rishi have been competing to use it. When they get a bit too hot they move back to the reclining chairs, etc., and then the other sister takes over. Pizza boxes always seem to be very popular, for some reason. The outside temperature up here is now 4 degrees, but the wind is rally blowing a gale, and the online weather station says that the wind chill makes it feel like -4. So I'm glad to have it burning away in my living room. However, I have to admit that your Massport looks to be a lot more convenient. Good to hear that you've been relaxing after a long day.

Alessa, good to hear your news. Glad you're staying well but am sorry to hear about the diabetes. My father and my grandmother and my uncle were all diabetics, so I've been tested regularly all my life. But am lucky to have escaped it. However, if you take care of yourself I'm sure you'll be OK for many, many years. Good luck with your covid jab. Big debate here in Oz about our locally-made AstraZeneca, and now more Pfizer is arriving in the country. My brother in Maine had two Pfizer vaccinations a couple of months ago. Schools are currently closed here in NSW as well, but compulsory vaccinations remain controversial. I think so far only aged care workers have to be vaccinated. We still haven't had any positive covid tests here in the Blue Mountains (for more than a year) but we're including in the Great Sydney lockdown just the same.

Katy and Diva . . . good night!

Katy, I use my French Press to froth the Milk, I saw ad for Milk Frother on IG, and thought  the tech is very similar to a French Press and I have an Unused French Press in a Box, Lemme try it and rest is History…

Image

I barely used it for a min and volume is up by 1/3rd already…

Mattie, I saw Yellowstone as soon as it came out and yes I thought it was the most beautiful place in US, and I wanted to visit it but I am glad that the show tells us the brutal atrocities done on the indigenous people of Montana and how they suffered and the human greed it made my heart sad, but still I am glad I saw it otherwise I wouldn’t have known such stories and I am glad people are showing it in mainstream about so many things which have otherwise been “whitewashed”

Pj, I am glad to hear Rishi is doing well, I am glad he isn’t called Panda anymore we don’t need him to get identity crisis over it  I don’t understand people naming their dogs Tiger and other names too, I mean which call one animal with different animals name :? the other day my Mum saw our Cat on native purple fruit tree in front of our house and was extremely shocked she managed to take few pictures for us, it was hilarious as he was on the branch in front of our second floor window ….

Hi

Diva that French press has done the job my little froth maker does the same ,it gets nice and creamy and thick :D Hi Alessa I'm happy to see you too , we could use a teacher here at the moment :? we're in lockdown , unfortunately we can't have visitors so I can't see the kids only on video or Skype calls its so stressful for the parents at the moment but they're coping as best they can :? Matina someone has to keep you outta trouble  love and hugs xo Morning Pj my hubby had the jab on Monday he seems ok didn't grow two heads   so we'll see :? my daughter and her husband had their jab yesterday at Olympic Park, when they arrived they were shocked at the amount of people waiting in line over 200 they were told, but its very organised and nurses are going down the line checking people , I think my daughter waited 20 mins to get in then 40 mins all up after the needle :? so strange times indeed :? I hope your doing ok with the girls your heater looks wonderful its 14c very windy today :D take care everyone :D

Hi, all! We only have AZ at the moment, so that’s what I’m getting today. We had Moderna before but it ran out quickly as it was the preferred vaccine. Taiwan is trying to get BNT and more Moderna, but negotiations are still ongoing.

pjm, your heater looks really nice. I’m sure the cats are appreciative of it. As for pizza boxes…cats love all kinds of boxes or anything they can squeeze into, but maybe they’re secretly pizza lovers?  They probably love trying to squeeze into anything to prove their adroitness at hiding

My diabetes isn’t too bad as long as I watch what I eat and take my meds properly. I test my glucose every night before a meal and jab myself with insulin if it gets too high. Diabetes runs in both my parents’ sides, so it’s hard to get away from it. My mom also has it, so I always remind her to get checked too.

matina, lots of snow flurries today! Sometimes they were very thick. None settled on the ground, though, and I couldn't get a good picture. Snow has stopped now and I have about ten crimson rosellas out on my front deck. Rishi is keeping an eye on them.

Katy, glad you and your family are staying well. Just read about the new lockdown requirement this morning. No need for me to go out to the shops this weekend. I have a Woolies delivery coming on Tuesday and I picked up lots of cat food when I took Rishi to the vet a few days ago. It's 1 degree right now (1 pm) and I have the central heating going. Might start up my fire later this afternoon, since I have plenty of firewood on hand and the fuzzies love it.

Diva, I'll have to try out my French Press (we call them 'plungers' here) to froth my milk. I also have a little device with my automatic espresso machine (which I rarely use) and my son used to like it when he visited.

Alessa, glad to hear that you're staying well. My father had quite a severe case of diabetes and I can remember him injecting himself every morning. He went on a strict diet at age 45, never drank or smoked after that, and lived to be 77. He survived front-line combat in the infantry in France and Germany during WWII and I think everything, including diabetes, was easy for him after the terrible things he experienced in 1944 and 1945.

Wonderful to see all the comments here at CC&BC today. Would be great to hear from John and other old friends.

Bye for now . . .

HELLO ALL!
HOMEDAY TODAY AND LOVING IT!!!
PJ your heater looks very well looked after. nice. well i agree with alessa cats love boxes and of course they love pizza too.
Kathy i don't know how you cope being apart form the grandkids but hang in there be strong for their sakes i am sure they miss you more. You are certainly my rock in keeping me sane bless you!
Diva enjoy the frothy milk. Yes i agree with you and it is heart wrenching despicable and atrocious that a lot of that abuse and neglect and cruel EVIL behaviour is still happening today and not only to the Indian indigenous folk but also to African Americans too. what a shame that one has to fear the very people who are meant to help protect and serve and save us like the police. A DAMN SHAME & UNCOSCIONABLE!
The thing that most impacted me was seeing the Indian reservations in so much poverty but with casinos on their land, and that wealth not being reinvested in creating self sufficiency infrastructures on their lands like hydroponic green houses where they can produce their own food. solar /wind or water generating energy. to help assist to build a better community for themselves. Yes admittedly this is hard to do when the majority are addicted to alcohol and drugs. they have a perfect opportunity to live completely off the grid. where even the FBI have to get permission from tribal elders to enter their land. I cry when knowing their culture was a peaceful land loving and proud warriors with a skillset for survival like no other, to be killed & reduced to alcohol and drug fueled violence against others & themselves. skills and beautiful culture that is dying off as the generations go by. I pray that they continue to survive and that their skills and culture and history survive as well as i think we could all learn a lot from them, on how to live one with our planet /nature not taking more than we need to survive. (however we humans a greedy lethal evil species) name another animal/species that hunts for sport & pleasure and not for only protection and survival.
well i shall leave it there the issues are a lot and not easy to solve. May god have mercy on us all and may he bless and guide us every day. I will however leave you with this last quote. EVIL THRIVES WHEN GOOD MEN/WOMEN DO NOTHING! (if you see something unjust or wrong speak out) by doing nothing you too are assisting the abuser thereby making you an accessory to whatever is going on in gods eyes.
time for coffee.
