matina, had a nice sit out in the sun today. No wind to speak of, and the temperature's nearly up to 10 degrees. Yes, as Katy wrote, it would be so great if you got more help with your mother. Hope you're still happy with your helper.

Katy, is that your daughter in queue? Because my daughter-in-law's sister is a GP, she long ago arranged jabs for the QLD family. All got Pfizer, except that my son first got AZ and then Pfizer as a booster. I didn't know 18 year olds were able to do that, some months ago, but there you go. My son is still 'stuck' on North Stradbroke Island, by the way. Kittens are just fine. Both are nearby, having finished a tasty and expensive 'brunch' in the kitchen . . .

If I go very slowly, I can walk right up to my front deck cockies and take closeups . . .

Ducks? Ducks? No ducks around here!

matina, will catch up this evening . . . hope you got your afternoon nap.

Katy, drove over to Wentworth Falls and picked up a huge supply of expensive cat food. The vet nurse said (and this is unconfirmed online) that they'd had a covid-positive customer there, and were closing down for a couple of days and deep cleaning. Am so hoping this isn't really true.

Otherwise, all quiet here. Rishi sleeping on my legs as I type . . .

matina, just fed my 'ducks' but there were only about ten on the front deck. Maybe the others have gone on a diet. 13 degrees up here after a 2 degree night, and I've been sitting out in the sun, in my backyard, watching the blue sky and listening to the various birds, trying to remember which is which. My next-door neighbour, living on the other side of the fence, turned 100 two days ago but I wasn't able to visit him. He had a Zoom party with his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren was able to share his message from Her Majestry. What a guy! I sent him an e-mail instead.

Katy, I found out more about the Wentworth Falls covid. A woman brought her cat there, and dropped it off, leaving the carry cage on the veranda and then driving off, having no contact with the staff or other animals. Later she or someone phoned and informed the vet that the woman had tested positive. Someone else picked up the poor cat, but the vet decided that the cat could have passed on covid, so has shut down and started a big cleanup. I was over there three days ago, but didn't go inside. They left my cat food on the veranda with the credit card machine and I picked it up and paid and left before the staff ventured out. (I talked to them on the phone, especially Bernie the vet nurse, who is the local 'cat psychiatrist' there. I passed on Rishi's greetings.) Anyhow, the official notices about positive tests still don't mention Wentworth Falls, so maybe the cat ower drove up from Penrith, or . . . I wonder.

Thanks for the good wishes, Diva!

This little old man is leaving us on Tuesday to go to his new home in Nice. Considering he's 15 years old, suffers from Cushings disease and is generally a grumpy bunny unless you're hand feeding him treats or carrying him around - it's a great result for an oldie!

Hi, all!

First week back at work went well. We’re returning to our regular class schedule next week, which means back to teaching Arts & Crafts to 2 yr-olds first hour in the morning. I love doing arts & crafts, but trying to get little babies to stay put and follow instructions in a foreign language is always a challenge.

My Covid arm rash still hasn’t gone away. The rash has gotten a bit bigger and I’m trying to figure out what else I can take to make it go away. I’ll stop by the pharmacy tomorrow after work and see if they can give me some oral meds for it. Fingers crossed!

The weather is cooler this weekend due to a typhoon that skirted us and went northward towards China. It rained all day yesterday and it was around 20C. It has stopped raining and we’re up to 32C. Hopefully the sky will stay clear for the rest of the afternoon.

Pjm, those ducks/cockies sure look bent out of shape  Maybe a change in their diet would help?
matina, what’s for dinner tonight? I’m getting some frozen dumplings and cooking them later tonight.
Kathy, how are things at your end? Are you all still quarantined? We got back to Level 2 last week and hoping we don’t have to go to Level 3 again.
fatima, it’s great that the dog found a good home. I hope he can be treated well!

Off to take a nap and then go grocery shopping. I hate that tomorrow is Monday, but I’m excited that there will be 8 new episodes of You Are My Glory in the evening.

Have a nice day & take care! :D

Today's view from the end of my street would be very different . . . cold and foggy and rainy. I took the above shot on my short afternoon walk, about 4 pm yesterday.

matina, thanks for your good wishes. Am OK here and not doing much except talk on phone & internet. Today doesn't look like a good time for another walk, even a short one. Rishi is currently asleep on my knees . . . nice and warm.

Katy, yes, there was never any annoucement that a positive covid case had popped up in the mountains, so I think our vets are just being very, very careful. Rishi only has her regular blood test appointment in two weeks. The routine is . . . ring when you arrive and then leave your cat on the doorstep . . . vet nurse arrives and picks her up and then you consult with the vet via your mobile phone. Procedure is reversed to retrieve your cat. Credit card machine is left out on the veranda, on a chair! Just checked the latest ABC covid news and the tough restrictions are heading west to Penrith . . . thankfully not down your way. 6 degrees up here right now but what with my central heating on 'low' and Rishi sleeping on my legs . . . I'm doing well.

Hi to Fatima, Alessa, Diva and all the CC&BC gang . . .

Diva always nice seeing you.
Alessa good luck with the munchkins keep an eye on them as at that age they eat more crafts and glue than create with it   or stick things up their nose and ears   good luck with the rash :? i would get a Dr. to look at it and tell them it is a reaction to the vaccine. :? usually for normal unexplained rashes etc telfast or Phenergan are prescribed but for a vaccine reaction they may need to give you something else. look after yourself. keep us posted.
Kathy yes it was not only eatable it was so yummy and not bad for a first go and i did add extra stuff to it too   what's cooking without improvisation    but next time i heat up the left overs it needs some garlic bread and salad as accompaniments
we had a nice day out today had lunch at the pub.
now it is time for a cup of tea and to entertain mother :?
be safe and god bless you all

Above, yesterday's rainy scene on my front deck. Sun has returned today. (See bottom photo showing my backyard.)

matina, had my doctor's appointment by telephone and there's nothing much to report. I had taken my own temperature, pulse rate, and BP, which were OK. A couple of more months until my cardio appointment and blood test. BP unit isn't showing any AFib any longer . . .

Katy, sorry to hear you have to drive a bit to shop. But then, you do really live on the outskirts (which is great). I'm only about five minutes away from Leura Mall and less than ten from Katoomba . . . yet right on the edge of the bush. Up to 12 degrees today and sunny . . . quite a change from yesterday. I think my son is back home back now, unless he's immediately headed up to Gympie to check on his second koala site. He's always on the move with the university team. I can't keep up. But I'm glad their lockdown has ended.
