Winter is here! Wind chill of -5C and I'm working outside all day Got the furry leggings out - problem is, it takes me 20 minutes to take it all off for bedtime

Little Maya was adopted over the weekend. So that's good news!

matina, every sorry to hear about the electricity. I entirely forgot about that! Yes, a quiet day in the wrong way . . . Hope everything is back up and running now. Good optical news for me at the office of my local opthamologist late this afternoon . . . eye pressure is good and I don't have to have it checked again for six months. No more drops . . .

Got a couple of decent shots of the local raven family . . . best one is above. Well, about the front deck feeding of 'my' cockies . . . the bird seed is excellent, but I may be disrupting their normal feeding. Am going to have to cut right down . . .

Another gray and rainy day with a lot of fog . . . not too cold through . . . quiet evening ahead . . . fuzzies well . . .

Fatima thank you for the support sweet heart and if there was any doubt that little Maya wouldn't get snatched right up. how is sopresso doing? did he get adopted??
PJ great news on your ophthalmologist appointment! but go and get them tested in 3 months at an optometrist its free just to be on the safe side. Yes cockies are resilient creatures and they pig out when they find food but they also know how to go without food as they have to forage for it. i am sad as when they realise it wont be an all you can eat buffet at PJ's anymore they will probably wither off from coming in and you will miss them i am sure. As will the girls.

Hi fatima I thought little Maya would get snapped up I hope she's gone to a good home matina I must do my Xmas cards too I'm so lazy I might employ the granddaughter to write them my handwriting is terrible especially with arthritic fingers good to hear your got thru with no power yesterday just now if only the council roadworks would go away hugs xoxo Good morning Pj wow such great news on your pressures not everyone has that outcome after cataract surgery well done still keep a check on them as I know you wilk I know your sad at cutting back with the cockies but I guess as wild birds they need to be able to fend for themselves but I don't think they are going away easily you'll be surrounded just be careful more rain today but really humid take care everyone hugs all diva big extra hugs to you xo

matina, another foggy and rainy day up here. Not too cold, though. A few cockies are still hanging around the front deck after their last reduced meal, and a single rosella is also scouting around, trying to find the odd seed or two. Sad not to be able to feed them more. Am expecting to have a very late night phone call from my Maine family on Thursday night . . . actually Friday morning . . . when they all gather for Thanksgiving. All four children and all four grandchildren will be there, plus a few more rellies. I might have some photos sent to me too.

Katy, my eye doctor said I could wait a year for my next check, but I opted to make an appointment in six months. Would really like to be sure my eye pressure is going to be down permanently. I think I can also go to my local optometrist and get a check for free, and might do this at the end of summer, just to be sure. My new HCF health insurance should cover it. New reading glasses work really, really great for paper books. Cataract lenses do the job well for the computer and Kindle. Imagine that you also have lots of gray clouds and rain about in your area. Brief thunderstorm passed through the Jamison Valley just south of me, but didn't go over the upper mountains.

Fatima, thanks again for the great puppy photos! Waiting for more, in due course.

just finished up the last of them (card writing) and i know what you mean kathy about how crappy our handwriting has gotten bloody arthritis! at least you have some one to delegate it to i don't have that luxury!
resurfacing still going on and I'm so over it the weather is humid as hell. I still need to get some sugar free stuff for me and a friend and a couple more boxes of chocolates then i am done (my fault i forgot a few folks) ;-(
PJ im sure they will still keep turning up i am just worried your house my not fair that well if they don't find the food waiting.
hope everyone else is well and coping with life in general.

Katy, only 17 degrees up here right now, but also a bit humid . . . cloudy and foggy but rain seems to have stopped, at least for now. Thunderstorms missed us yesterday. Yes, I'm very, very grateful for my leafy backyard, with all the frogs and bees, and even a Wollemi pine tree. When it rains, Sunnya can still sit under cover on the patio, and watch what's going on. The other day, she watched a possum up in one of my trees for several hours.

KATHY enjoy your day out at the shops. it is humid here too a little cooler than you but not by much.
PJ id like a closer look at what is on your front door PLEASE!
It was a HOME DAY but QUIET NEVER! the guys are still resurfacing my street.
the thing is its more phone calls and things to tend to for mum me and Satan. more emails to be sent forms to be filled etc and phone calls to make and government departments that don't know what the left hand is doing from the right and how ludicrous that they cant tell you if they have received and email from you that needs to be actioned by them and i need to wait 24 days for me to try and contact them again and that the only way i can get this information is to get Satan to speak to them, this is relating to see if they got the form of authorisation by me to access his information with the relevant immunisation certificates for him and a copy of the power of attorney they couldn't confirm if they had or hadn't received the email. Because it is against privacy issues, so they want to speak to a person of non English speaking background who has dementia to allow me access to his information or to take said Satan into one of their offices ( oh i am soooo tempted to do just that and sit by and let them work it all out with him) This is all crap as i have been able to set up his online profile as i have power of attorney and i am looking at all his information anyway but they cant tell me if they have received my email that i sent to them to update his profile with the relevant immunisation certificates. yeap CRAZY BANANA!!!!! THE 24 day wait is how long it takes them to do anything on their end & for it to show on his profile that i already have access to. if nothing comes up i cat try to contact them again and hope they have added the authorisation form on there so they can tell me if they got my email or not. otherwise i will waste more time and money calling them to get stuff all.
yes i think it may be time to set Satan free in their office! whilst i sit there drinking an Irish coffee heavy on the Irish!!!
speaking of COFFEE time for me to step one GET SOME!

Yesterday's sunset . . . seen from my front deck . . .

matina, I finally had my phone call . . . 2:30 am . . . talking to everyone in Maine. A few hadn't yet turned up, because it was still only late Thanksgiving morning there. So sad but so good to talk to everyone. Treated myself to a good sleep-in this morning (with Rishi on the foot of the bed) and have already given 'my' cockies their single, reduced feed for the day. Hope all goes better for you today. My longtime friend who lost his leg and nearly died has hired a solicitor to get his NDIS work done, even though he's an accountant and a solicitor himself. I think he's having better luck than you are. Good news for him on Wednesday is that he's announced his engagement to his girlfriend, also an accountant who's finally retired.

Katy, we had a thunderstorm early this morning and I jumped out of bed about 5 am, I guess, and unplugged the router modem. Then when straight back to sleep so don't know how much rain we got up here . . . probably not torrential. My gutter cleaning guy is coming next week and then I can relax about worked needed on the house . . . for the time being. Am seriously thinking about driving over to Katoomba late this afternoon to put in an early vote for the Council elections, so I can just forget about it. The Councilor that I knew has given up politics, so I don't know any of the Ward One candidates. I had those windows and the woodwork and the door put in when I bought the house in 2007. I took the design from somewhere and got the Katoomba glass specialists to do the stained glass job. I'll try to get a better shot soon. Hope your 'Black Friday' (what a terrible name) goes well.

Greetings to all and a Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the US who are celebrating. (Forgot to greet my Canadians friends last month.) Hope to hear from you soon. Bye for now . . .

PJ glad you managed to save the modem! So glad you had a nice catch up with your family it is always a nice thing to do.
Kathy i hope you are safe with all that water any danger of it entering the home? check your insurance policy to see if it covers that some of them are sneaky about that. hope you and the kids are OK.
