Hello everyone :D

Hi Pj I had a lovely young optometrist at Specsavers do my eye test, after the initial exam for photos of the eye etc boy I did not like trying not to blink then the bright flash as the machine took the pic  but she said i have healthy eyes, pressures good no cataracts :D I did have a small out of pocket expense :? only cause I picked the more expensive frame I really liked :o , but it all worked out we got a refund from the health insurance due to covid and non use during lockdown so it evened out :) sunnya sure is the cat among the pidgeons or cockies  matina yep I'm a big swollen arthritic blob today to much running around yesterday, I know you feel it too join me on the couch cause I'm not budging :D mwah diva xoxoxo hello everyone all our regulars I hope you are all ok hugs always :D

matina, here's a picture of one of my larger crystals. It looks beautiful in the sun. Hope you're having a quiet day today.

Katy, I asked for the cheapest frames at Specsavers and so got my first pair of reading glass for only $39. Since I have an annual budget of $100 for 'optical' with HCF, I can easily get a second pair for free. My least favourite test (only at the eye doctor) is the long 'field test' (one for each eye) . . . which really wears me out, trying to concentrate. So glad to hear that you have no cataracts developing and no glaucoma. Enjoy your weekend!

Hope everyone else is well . . . bye for now.

matina, hope you're feeling better today. Let us know. Much cooler here . . . 9 degrees . . . with light rain.

Katy, you may find that Specsavers get your new glasses in for you in about a week or so. That's what happens at my Katoomba office. They don't promise it, but they seem to get them made up (maybe down in Melbourne) quicker than expected. I like my $39 frames and only wear them in the house anyhow. Am able to read small print in paper books . . . perfectly.

Looks like a quiet day up here in the mountains . . . rainy . . . and I have the central heating on low. Fuzzies have been running around the living room and playing . . . chasing each other . . . which is a good sign. Poor old cockatoos have been fed, but look very cold and bedraggled out in the rain.

Bye for now . . .

matina, you may remember that every year I send my Maine family members traditional Christmas wreaths. The trees are grown and the wreaths put together in a very rural part of Maine, so I'm happy to support this iconic family business, located not far from the Canadian border, in the middle of nowhere. My four wreaths have now arrived and I've already received a few pictures. Sorry there's no snow on the ground! Hope you're feeling better today.

Katy,I forgot about the teachers' strike! Hope you enjoy some quality time with your grandson. Every cloud has a silver lining. As you may guess, I'm a great supporter of better pay and better conditions for teachers, who prepare our next generation. However, governments seem to think that other projects are more deserving of our tax money! It was down to 7 degrees up here last night, and is now only about 13 degrees . . . cloudy but not raining. I'm currently being watched by about a dozen cockatoos who want seconds. Rishi is asleep on my knees, behind the computer.

Would love to hear more news from our CC&BC people. Bye for now . . .

HELLO ALL!
BEAUTIFUL WREATHS PJ!& very thoughtful of you! I am sure the Maine family will definitely enjoy them especially this year! (bittersweet as it must be) :(
Kathy enjoy the time with your grandson ( make sure he isn't using you as a bouncing board) like a great Dane using a chihuahua as a cushion
Yes we are missing a lot of cosy cafe folks i hope they pop in to say hello.
Just got a phone call from Satan :? he doesn't want to go see the ophthalmologist now (which was scheduled for the 21st of December) he is becoming increasingly unmanageable. In the short term it means i don't have to take him and suffer the indignity of yelling instructions at him. but if his vision gets worse from his glaucoma then he will need a higher level of care which he doesn't want to accept from anyone but me and mum. something were are fast approaching that we cannot physically provide. :( :( :( :( LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!
My back is still giving me grief just found out my chiro is now in isolation :o  i cant get in to see him till the 20th at least massage guy is coming tomorrow hope that helps if not i will be camping outside the physiotherapists office to beg for an emergency appointment first thing Wednesday :( :( :(
Be safe everyone and may god bless and be with you all. tell folks you love them after all tis the season :D :D
