Another local Christmas tree . . .

matina, am back home after my ultrasound and, thank goodness, didn't encounter any of the people or drivers you ran into! Apparently, I never got a referral for a CAT scan, so am finished with what my GP ordered . . . the blood test and the ultrasound. Came home to find what I call a 'brownout' . . . electricity not fully functioning. But before I could think much about it, all power went out again and I got an Endeavour Energy text saying that repairs are underway. I really wonder what is going on around here. So I'm back using my iPhone's 'hotspot' facility and of course my computer's battery is draining away. So I won't stay online too long right now. Absolutely beautiful day here . . . 20 degrees and sunny. Now all I need is electricity!

Katy, and still smiling about your scooter. I'd really like to try one. But we have no real shopping centres around here. Anyhow, tomorrow should see the end of masks and QR cods in all our Sydney venues. Wonder what will happen.

One last bit of news . . . two days ago I took up Microsoft's long-awaited offer to upgrade to the Windows 11 operating system. Have been checking it out and so far, so good. If anyone here at CC&BC has any questions about it, just ask. Windows will now run Android apps. Who would have guessed? I'm old enough to remember when we switched our PCs from the old DOS to the new 1.0 version of Windows. I was very suspicious of Windows back in the early 1980s!

Good morning Pj did you get your full power back It must be the week for maintenance on power and water, we just got an hours notice that our water is going off I hobbled around filling up kettles and buckets of course hubbies out shopping I could just growl like matina oh lord I remember the dos prompt and the blinking cursor a little warmer over the next few days 28c today matina talk about asshat drivers the stupid waterboard parked their trucks across three of our driveways they were promptly told to move them and weren't in the least happy about it very rude to my elderly neighbour hugs to you xoxo be safe god bless

HOME DAY TODAY!
The Cleaner is here cleaning.
I have been up most of the night doing computer updates GROWL!! I also had to compile a few emails i needed to send off today. (why do i do them at night you ask?) it is the only time i have to myself without interruptions.
I just finished the banking and ordering our prescriptions from our local chemist for delivery tomorrow.
We Still need to catch up with a few folks before Christmas.
we still need to go to Harvey Norman/ the good guys to check out a few more wet dry stick vacuums. I am exhausted just thinking about it all let alone doing it all.
Satan rang up and placed his booze order with us ;-( so another thing to add to the list of things that need doing. He cancelled his ophthalmology appointment (don't even get me started)
well i must be off and see what to make for lunch mother isn't feeling too well her back is giving her grief when she is cranky well (you know what happens next) THE WOLF STARTS TO GROOOOWWWWLLLLL!!!

matina, power was off here for a long time. I finally went to bed. Now we have low-flying helicopters everywhere . . . very loud . . . and latest reports were that they were bringing in materials to repair trails in the NP. Don't know why they don't just drop the stuff off and then leave. They seem to be hanging around a long time. Finally, came in from my sunny backyard to avoid the noise. Sorry to hear your mother isn't well and than you have so much to do. Good to hear that the cleaner has arrived, though. Hope you're enjoying your lunch as I type.

Katy, I've decided to stay inside with the AC and the windows closed until the helicopters run out of petrol. I tried my usual FlightAware site but it doesn't seem to show them. In fact, the page keeps freezing up. Maybe everyone in the Blue Mountains is trying to log on and see what these choppers are up to. Hope you keep sane with the water turned off. Had mine off about a month ago, but only for a couple of hours. I think our local power came back last night about midnight. I could hear the huge EE trucks on the street outside.

Took this photo yesterday, across the street from my house . . .

matina, thanks for the good luck wishes. I've managed to book a repair for my garage door for Friday afternoon, after first being told that there were no appointments available until well into 2022. And I've tweaked my Windows 11 settings successfully (so far) to get my sound back and stablise my internet connections. 'First world problems' to be sure . . . but that's where I live! The choppers finally disappeared before 1 pm and I sure hope that they've now dropped off all their sand and concrete in various places in the National Park and will go somewhere else tomorrow! When my son worked as 'Acting Head Ranger' on Lord Howe Island a few years ago, he told me how much it costs to run a helicopter for one day. Hope you got a few of your own problems fixed today.

Yes, it was nice to hear from Diva and would be wonderful to receive news from CC&BC friends like Fatima & lush. I suspect that everyone is busy with the Christmas season approaching.

Kathy I'm joining you on the couch today watching some movies got my delivery of sugar free candy and i am so good to go! I ordered them from NSW on Sunday afternoon and dang it if i didn't get them delivered to me yesterday morning HAPPY WOLF!!
I managed to find some Twizzlers sugar free strawberry twists (like the licorice versions) i had been hoping someone might wake up to the fact we need sugar free versions of them here but these are imported from USA.
I blew my budget of $50 on sugar free candy why i hear you ask? because no one truly thinks of me. they buy me all these chocolates etc that i am not allowed to eat so i have to let guests eat them. (my personal torture for the rest of the year) would it kill them to buy a few packs of sugar free candy and chocolate that are available in every supermarket? so at least i can eat the bloody things goes to show It isn't always the thought that counts with them.

Ahhh matina a wolf after my own heart I'm a shocking sweet tooth too I'm glad you treated yourself after all you do for everyone else yes people don't think when your diabetic they just buy what's easy instead of looking at the sugar content enjoy your day and your treats don't spoil your lunch:D Morning Pj don't the NP consider the residents and the affect the helicopter noise has on everyone its unnerving for you let alone the fuzzies they must've been hiding from the constant drone a warning to you all would've been nice tho Your lucky to get someone out to look at your garage just be careful of price fingers crossed it's an easy quick fix a humid day thundering here at the moments

I've been taking pictures of the clouds and the sky lately . . .

matina, all seems to be returning to 'normal' at my house now . . . if that's the right thing to say during these covid times. Had a long conversation on the phone with an old friend just a few minutes ago, and am trying to get hold of my bushwalking friend in Lithgow. He rang yesterday and left me a message about meeting in Katoomba, but I didn't see it until late in the evening. So sorry to hear about the heat, but at least you've accessed some chocolate!

Katy, fuzzies are having afternoon naps right now, and I may join them soon. No helichopters (as Rishi calls them) today! I trust that all the NPWS ground workers are hard at it right now, rebuilding local trails. Up to 21 degrees here, but it's not too warm. I haven't even turned on the AC. Am watching the west for possible thunderstorms . . .

STOP PRESS: Interrupted this note because my Lithgow friend rang. Had a good chat. We'll meet up on Sunday for cappuccino!

Uh hello, I just want to share a silly thing for others but meant a lot to me thing: I received a wrz donation from someone for the very first contest I tried joining, since I stumbled upon mobi.
It was about a funny caption, I felt so happy that I made someone laugh (and I thought it was the one who donated) .. but noooo... I think it was for a volunteering wrsz thing.. and now, I somehow felt silly sending the 'I'm glad I made you laugh' reply, when I'm not even sure they read my caption since it wasn't mentioned.

Oh. If it makes you happy, you shouldn't be embarrassed about it. I do not know what a rainbow high doll is, so I have to search about it on Google. They were pretty and for sure other enthusiasts find your collection marvelous and enviable. Btw, I have a mild phobia to those type of dolls, but I still looked for it because I respect you and your collection. Don't be embarrassed about it. You might have something others don't right? Be content and be happy.

matina, hope all is going well for you and your mother today. My roller door guy just came and removed my old, broken electric motor and fixed the roller door so it opens and closes easily by hand, and can be locked manually. New motor only in January. $840 will be the total cost. Didn't charge me anything today.

Katy, beautiful day up here today . . . getting up into the high 20s. Let's hope we all have our electricity uninterruped, for our valuable AC. I think Saturday will be hotter.
