Sunnya found a 1.5 metre long green and gold snake near the back door, and went into a kind of modified 'pointer pose' like a hunting dog. Its body was about as big around as my wrist. Off went the snake with yours truly following with a broom, hoping to herd him/her under the fence. Sadly, the snake found a hole in the foundation and disappeared into that. I phoned our local 'reptile rescue man' and talked to his lovely wife. She advised just waiting. About an hour ago, my zoologist son wrote and told me that (from my detailed description) it was probably a harmless tree snake. So I'm believing that and just leaving it alone.

Uh hello, I just want to share a silly thing for others but meant a lot to me thing: I received a wrz donation from someone for the very first contest I tried joining, since I stumbled upon mobi.
It was about a funny caption, I felt so happy that I made someone laugh (and I thought it was the one who donated) .. but noooo... I think it was for a volunteering wrsz thing.. and now, I somehow felt silly sending the 'I'm glad I made you laugh' reply, when I'm not even sure they read my caption since it wasn't mentioned.

Annnnd I love dogs! We used to have five of them and a lot more a long time ago. But they all died of illness and old age. Now we only have one remaining, sadly I do not have him with me. He's in my sister's house and I rarely saw him. But he's a mix of Lab and Jap Spitz. When he was small he was soooo cute! His name is Kaiser. We call him Kai. <3

Wow! So wonderful to see all the many comments here at CC&BC! Keep the news coming!

Leading off with a photo of my courageous Jungle Cat, who alerted me to danger yesterday . . .

matina, 'my' snake seems to have disappeared. All is well. Sunnya has come in from the backyard and is now sound asleep. Rishi slept in this morning, and still hasn't got up to eat her breakfast. It's supposed to be 30 degrees up here today, which is pretty hot for us. But as long as we have electricity . . . Sadly, I have to get out and drive over to my chemist because I just discoved that I've run out of blood thinners. That's what my cardiologist says is my most important medicine. Usually don't like to go over to Leura Mall on busy Saturday afternoons . . .

Katy, am sure it's much hotter down your way. I'd love to see what my fuzzies would do if I ever got that much snow in my backyard (with reference to the picture you posted). I suspect that Rishi would just stay in the house. My Maine family is expecting more snow soon, and hoping for a white Christmas. They get about 3.5 metres of snow a year there.

dreamy, thanks for checking in on us. Yes, I think all is pretty well here at CC&BC, although we do have our individual problems from time to time. I'm looking forward to talking to family at Christmas. Won't see them in person, though. Not long now.

Fatima, nice shots of Magnus and Morphee. What's the weather like in your area? White Christmas coming? Anyhow, keep up the good work with your lovely puppers.

Sol and hayeonj, welcome once again to our little corner of Mobi. Good to have you both around. Please pop in when you can and share your news. I've posted a great many photos of my Blue Mountains surroundings in past years and am so luck to live more or less on a mountaintop, with wonderful views. I'll post another one below.

UPDATE: Returned home to find 'my' snake inside my garage. Actually, Sunnya found it. Guided via phone by the wife of the local 'Reptile Man' I managed to gently guide it (with my rake) out underneath the garage roller door. It slithered off at high speed, down the driveway and into the bush across the street. Took a photo. 'Reptile Man' phoned again and said it was in fact a venomous tiger snake.

PJ SNAKES! "YOUR SNAKE" may have vanished for now but be careful as they tend to come back it is feeding & mating season and they are drawn to birds (particular fattened up cockies with canckles who cant fly much)and water (your back yard pond) mice and other female snakes, so more than likely he /she will be back. look after the girls keep a close eye on them don't want them getting hurt. you may think of draining your pond so there is no water source for them to be attracted to.
time for coffee and a lie down my head is pounding Satan just exhausts me to no end.
