matina, how are you doing today? Hope you and your mother are feeling better. Another good sleep might have helped. Let us know.

Katy, yes, it might well be some kind of grevillea. Maybe matina knows. Cloudy and cool this morning, but no rain. Sun has just come out, though! Hope you have a good weekend.

Hi to ZombieCarol, Fatima, Alessa, lush, Diva, John and all the CC&BC regulars. Trust that you're staying well.

Top photo is my limited view east from my upstairs living room. Bottom photo show one of the older Leura buildings, which I think used to be a movie theatre. Leura was only built around 1900, so there aren't many 'old' buildings there. People visit for the quaintness. My medical centre is just down Katoomba Street, out of the shot.

Happy May 1st, everyone!

matina, how was your night's sleep? Hope it was a good one, and that your coughing is subsiding. Same good wishes for your mother. Any plans for Sunday? Guess you'll have to stay home. Was out in my backyard this morning, enjoying the sun, even though it was on the cool side, and only about 15 degrees right now. Fed my birds. They've come and gone.

Katy, hope you enjoy your Sunday family barbecue! Potatoes always make me think about my father. Yes, those fuzzies sure do know how to relax. Sunny up here all morning, and the forecast is for a week of sunshine, apart from Wednesday. But it was down to 8 degrees last night and will get even colder.

Wishing good weekends to all the CC&BC people around the world. Bye for now . . .

HELLO ALL!
PJ That last picture is so clear the clarity of it is stunning especially the blue sky and with the clouds gorgeous. oh and yes i did sleep better last night only 3 coughing fits. they are getting less frequent and less long winded and violent, i started steroids last night at my wits end. tonight i will half the dose and then quarter it and ween myself off it. As long as i keep improving other wise i will stay on it for at least 7 days to be sure the lung is clear and protected last thing i need now is pneumonia complications. ;-(
Kathy oh a BBQ haven't had one for ages,I so wish i was there obviously without the dreaded lurgy in tow. please enjoy it with your family.;-)
To the rest of the cosy cafe folk i hope your enjoying your weekend whatever you are up to.
I am about to go have a nice coffee and biscuits. watch a few shows i always fall asleep on the couch, but not so much in bed anymore. I think i have developed post traumatic stress disorder about going to bed because of the harrowing coughing fits. in the recliner i just dose off whilst i am trying to stay awake to watch my tv shows ;-) i just cant win.
Be safe everyone and god bless and be with you all wishing you all health peace love and laughter.(oh money helps a lot too)

matina, hope you'll soon report another good night's sleep, and less coughing. All OK here . . . sunny shining and birds chirping. Beautiful autumn day. Had a nice sit out in my backyard with Sunnya (see top photo) and am now planning to drive over to Katoomba to do an errand or two.

Katy, yes, that's my front deck, facing the National Park, and it's a bit bigger than my back deck. However, I give it over to the birds. Yes, I still get cockatoos every day, but not as many since I cut down on the feeding. I also try to buy 'small birds' food instead of 'wild birds' and that seems to encourage the parrots and the 'pinheads' a bit more. And I only feed once a day. Those cockies were eating me out of house and home (sometimes literally) and so I had to slow things down. Hope your gardening goes well. Autumn leaves are still emerging along the streets here.

ZombieCarol, sorry to hear about the heat. matina will sympathise. But you have your mangoes!

Bye, everyone . . .

HELLO ALL!
ANOTHER AWESOME NIGHT OF SLEEP!!!
Coughing only when i got up for a wee break, now it is even intermittent during the day. ;-) i have gone down from a whole string quartet playing in my chest and the rumbling of mount st Helen to a single violin intermittently trying to tune itself only at night of course   so i am a happy camper for now hoping the last of this bronchial cough will leave me and never to return again :D :D
Kathy goodluck gardening and cooking those lovely soup recipes i sent you :D just don't burn the blasted post ok??  8) I want to get some bluebells mum loves them.
PJ nice pictures as always super clear. I hope the girls are behaving themselves and no more box trampling   at least she didn't do it while her sister was in the box    well since i am feeling a bit better i have a few things i need to start doing the house looks like a bomb has gone off in it and it is very true it actually did the 3 of us house bound for 2 and a half weeks i reckon the house is ready to boot us out of here

Morning everyone

Hi Pj are you well :? I know how much you love the wild birds but I suppose in the end if they're causing damage it's best if you reduce they're feeding :? Anyway it gives the other less demanding little birds etc a chance I'm sure they appreciate the seed :D
my garden beds are still so wet, they won't need watering for months fertiliser on , my camellias are a bit worse for wear lots of flowers but they're already going brown and dropping too much rain :( I can see you and sunnya enjoying the sun out un the yard :D
Matina I didn't burn any pots but I think I over done it on the garlic  oh well no vampires in this house  So good to hear your doing better :D Zombie carol how goes the heat i hope you can find a cool spot somewhere :D take care everyone :D

matina, hope to hear that you had another good night's sleep. I'm sure you're well on the way to getting over this 'thing' now. Yes, a check with your GP sounds like the way to go. If you can trust the RAT, then it's not covid . . . which, in any case, you can do anything about, except wait it out. How is your mother doing? How is little Snowy?

Katy, mostly sunny this morning, so I was able to sit out in the backyard again. It's nice as long as the sun is out, but as soon as a cloud passes over, you quickly realise that it's quite cool. The Blue Mountains City Council says it's not forbidden to feed wild birds, but they don't encourage it. Some people criticise you for feeding them. I'm on the edge of the NP and no one can really see my front deck, so only one neighbour has so far asked me about feeding the cockies. Anyhow, I've found that if I cut down, then the smaller birds will come along later. It's kind of sad. I'd really l like to feed all the birds regularly and be able to watch them up close. Sunnya enjoys it too! Sounds like those five weeks of rain have really done a job on your yard. My local leaves are continuing to turn (including my oak tree) and are looking better than I expected.

Hi to Fatima, Alessa, ZombieCarol, Diva, lush, John and all the CC&BC gang.

HELLO ALL!
last night was a relapse night of not much sleep coughing again and i also brought ups some bloody mucous which is never a nice sign but trying to get into seeing our GP is like finding hens teeth i will give it till Friday, then make an appointment at another clinic see how we go the problem is my voice is not back to normal yet and i am worried most of the time will be to catch them up on whats been going on my past medical history etc and that my voice wont last that long before it disappears again i think it is also laryngitis well flu affects thyroid too so who knows whats going on.
I hope it will be a better night tonight and that it will be gone by Friday. fingers legs toes and eyes crossed.
PJ it is nice to see the different birds about but their seeds, brings out the rats mice and other snake like creatures trying to get at the birds mice & rats etc all you need now is a nice goanna or a komodo dragon in your yard to keep the snakes away
kathy :? the thing with fertiliser is you need to water it in, just leaving it on top will possibly burn your plants :( :( but i am sure it rains every day there and it will have done the job for you
hello regulars and non regulars i hope you are all well and enjoying your week so far. lets be safe take care and god bless and be with us all.
time for a coffee and to get another chapter read on my book i was busy cleaning up this morning so i need to get that done now.
