Photo taken yesterday at the top of my driveway . . .

matina, so glad to hear that you're on the mend. I'm sure you'll start feeling back to normal over the next few days. Glad it's cooled off in your neck of the woods. Last night our mountain temperatures dropped below 3 degrees, maybe as low as one degree, and I had the fireplace going. Sunnya loved it!

Katy, beautiful sunny day up here and I even sat out in the backyard for a while, right in the sun . . . but I have to rug myself up because it's windy. Up to 9 degrees now at 1 pm but the wind makes it feel a lot colder. Really must get my firewood delivered next week, and I also need to get my chimney cleaned. Always another project! Yes, I still love paper books and browsing in bookshops, but my finances just don't allow book buying these days. Mobilism is so great for those of us on a fixed income. I really have all the ebooks I'll ever need. We still have one bookshop in Leura and four in Katoomba. Many of my paper books are stored away now, but I still have my favourites out on my shelves. Hope you have a good weekend.

Hi to all the CC&BC regulars. Hope you're all doing well. Please check in here when you can.

Bye for now . . .

HELLO ALL!
proof of life but no voice still have Satan duty tomorrow ;-( must fill in his postal vote for him.
PJ nice pics as always loving the cooler weather.
Kathy post away PJ is a big boy now he can handle a few coughing fits ;-)
I love the smell of libraries and physical books I still have my favourites even if i have them in e books. Just cant seem to let them go, I know i will have to soon i have no more room. non of the kids want the actual books these days (most don't even read for pleasure anyways these days)
oh if only i could have all the money i spent on special orders and buying all the books while i was in the country and the postage id be set up for my retirement right about now, not to mention the leather bound world book encyclopedia, I had to throw it out as not even the rotary club wanted them to donate to the poor or the library that cost me over a $1000 back in those days, they helped me out with a lot of school projects.
coffee time and on the couch with my blanket lovely 14 degrees today windy and loving it.
be safe every one and god bless and be with you all
Sol i hope you are doing better pop in and say hello so we know you are ok

The sun has just set over the Blue Mountains and it's 5 degrees. However, with the wind chill factor, it feels like -2!

matina, I hope Katy won't stop posting 'Scottish' photos for you. I'll just have to navigate CC&BC with my eyes closed. Everyone will have to forgive any typographic errors! Sorry to hear that you still haven't got your voice back yet . . . and that you'll have to be out and about tomorrow. I plan to do my pre-poll voting as usual over in Katoomba. Sometimes I actually meet the candidates this way. I know one of our Ward 1 Councillors and saw him when I last voted . . . but didn't tell him that I never vote for him! My favourite Councillor retired, sad to say.

Anyhow . . . fire is going for the evening and the fuzzies are happy. I have a firewood delivery coming on Tuesday afternoon and have requested a chimney cleaning . . . date yet to be finalised.

A cosy evening ahead . . .

matina, hope your Sunday errand has gone well. Keep us posted. Cool up here, but beautiful and sunny. Lots of autumn leaves.

Katy, I solved the visual problem by holding up one of my books with my left hand, over the top half of the computer screen, and then typing with only my right hand. It seems to work, more or less, but Rishi thinks it's a weird system. Hope your Mother's Day outing goes well!

Bye for now, everyone . . .

matina, how is everything today? Hope you're getting your voice back and hope to hear from you soon. Raining and 10 degrees up here in the mountains. My order of firewood was delivered a day early, so that's one important job accomplished. Had my eye pressure test (normal) and blood test this morning, but had to wait more than an hour for the latter. Waiting room full of mainly 'oldies' like me. Had to wear a mask the whole time. Nice people working there, though.

Katy, I'll leave it to your discretion as to what to post here at GUIE. I don't want to deprive matina! Looking forward to my lunch now. Had to fast for my blood test. Feels like winter now. Planning on a quiet afternoon and a little nap. Fuzzies are well but they didn't like the truck arriving and dumping firewood near the garage. Both raced to hide under the stairs!

Hi to all the CC&BC regulars . . .

Kathy you have pj's blessing post away!!
PJ gorgeous pic above the mural is very clear and contrast is spectacular not to mention the greens and blues stunning! glad you got the firewood delivered i am sure both rishi and sunnya love you for it. i would think the central heating would be cheaper and less work and no mess to clean up but there is always something very nice about an open fire going a cup of tea and a good book;-) I love winter!!!
hello to the regulars i hope everyone is well and having a good start to the week.
Be safe take care and god bless and be with you all.

matina, glad to hear that your coughing is at least subsiding a bit. Am sure you'll be back to normal soon and this past fortnight (or longer) will then be a not-so-great memory. I've just been cleaning up a bit where my firewood was dumped and also 'blew out' the garage while I had the chance. I think I got quite good quality firewood this time, from a company I hadn't heard of previously. For some reason they were the only firewood provider advertising in the Gazette, and also had a handy online ordering form. Yes, it's so much easier just to turn on the central heating, but you can't beat a wood fire. If I feel lazy, I can always use the central heating. Still waiting to hear back from the chimney sweep. Will follow that up tomorrow.

Below is another mural I found locally, but I can't recall where . . .

Today is the National and Local Elections in our country.
The first in the history to be held in the middle of pandemic. Wow. Oh and of course, I voted.
I did an undervote though. Wasn't able to vote for local councilors. Never heard of 'em.

P.S. Thank you everyone for the well wishes.
I'm sorry for not visiting often. These days, I prefer Private Messages than posting ... Not that any of the people here done that recently. But that's okay. I understand.
Anyway, I mostly spend my downtime, after a long day, re-upping links or joining Contests and Games. Most of the names I encounter there are very competitive eh. Good times.

Take care and stay safe.
