matina and Katy . . . back home with Rishi after a not-so-good report from the vet. Her anemia is back and her blood count is down to 18, almost her lowest level in the past year. Should be at least up in the low to mid 20s. Also, her heart murmur is back, although the vet says that this will improve when her blood iron goes back up. And that will happen because she's now going to be back on two tablets of steroids a day . . . was down to half a tab every four days. Sigh. Some kind of auto-immune says the vet, and the steroid has worked well in the past. matina, hope you get through all your jobs OK. Am going to have a nap now. In the west the sun is setting . . .

Hi Pj I know how you worry for rishi, but the steroids worked before its just, disappointing to get those results she's in good hands with you looking after her, and I have full faith and confidence that rishi will be back to normal with her iron levels , so try not to worry snuggle that gorgeous little face how on earth do you get her to take 2 pills I suppose you crush them in her food , but being a fussy eater does she smell her dinner and look at you suspiciously matina well that's good to hear the OT didn't give you too much trouble its all about helping your mum getting around with ease I think they sometimes forget and power goes to their heads, she's lucky you don't take no crap hugs to you both xoxo God bless everyone pop in and say hi all you lurkers out there

matina, hope things go well for you today . . . know you're very busy. Quiet day for me, though. Gave Rishi the first of her two daily steroid pills (whole pill) and she seems pretty well. Still tending to 'lick rocks' (various crystals and minerals) which was a past sign that she was lacking something. Vet says she has a good and complete diet, though. Good luck with today's tasks. My chimney sweeper just rang and will turn up this afternoon. Yay!

Katy, after decades of breeding cats and looking after them (lots and lots of cats), you get pretty good at giving them pills directly, without a 'pill popper.' Mixing meds in the food doesn't really work for cats, in my experience. Anyhow, Rishi is pretty good about her pills. Sunnya is the tough one! Hope you're enjoying today's sunshine. It's only about 9 degrees up here right now, but feels colder, with the wind.

Katy, thanks for your kind words about my photos. I do enjoy taking them and try to add a few every day. Rishi seems OK today and had her first daily steroid pill this morning. Sunnya is still out on the patio, soaking up the sun. Only 8 degrees up here, though.

matina and Katy . . . another cold night in the mountains . . . but I have my fireplace going and all is well. Managed to pick up my spring water at North Leura this afternoon, and my Woolies' order arrived at 8 pm. So all is well.

Brrrr Pj 1c this morning so enjoying it we complain all summer long with good reason love winter I can move around a lot better how is your Lithgow friend doing is he still going into the bush on long walks I hope you and the girls are ok youll need the heat on today up in the mountains matina if this next course of steroids doesn't shift it you'll need to get your pipes cleared I was planning on going shopping this morning but we had a phone call to go pick up our granddaughter from school she's sneezing and coughing so automatically its covid it's not she has allergies which we've told them but noooo now she has to have a pcr test and get a drs clearance to get back to school rats test this am was negative Its getting ridiculous enjoy your day hugs all

Kathy the ridiculous thing is if the kids have had covid in the last 3 months the pcr test will show it is positive even if it is covid you can go back to school and work after 6 days. Thing is the teachers have enjoyed all the time off and with fewer students so any excuse to whittle down the numbers again. I am not on steroids anymore i am on antibiotics darling. lungs are clear it is just bronchitis left over now, as for getting my pipes cleaned (your going to need an carton load of WD40 to get through that amount of rust) like the love shack song refers to tin roof rusted!!!! yes loving the cool weather feet are great no swelling as yet those steroids did a good job after stopping them the pain is coming back in full force we had 4 degrees last night I love it my slide door to my room was open wide and i only ever sleep in a very very lightweight summer quilt with my legs always out of the quilt.
PJ so glad you have a nice evening glad your enjoying your day. the hairdressers was great was so looking forward to it. Afterwards we went to visit my mothers sister we had lunch together then came home, expecting mechanic to arrive check on the car air-conditioning system as there is something not quite right with the smell it is omitting! most probably a mouse but need to be sure it isn't anything more sinister.

matina, glad to hear about your Friday. And that you can sleep better with no pain! Hope you can get that AC fixed. My car (hail damage) repair has been put off again, maybe for as long as two weeks. However, I'm not worried about it. Very hard to get tradesmen these days. Sunnya has been enjoying the fire every night . . .

Katy, hope your granddaughter is getting better and that it's not too serious. Yes, it's been getting quite cold up here. I decided to retire up in the mountains 15 years ago because I was finding Sydney more and more warm, as I got older. I lived for nearly 40 years in The Hills area. My Lithgow bushwalking friend is going better these days. Amazingly, he just walked 19 km around the mountains. I honestly don't know how he did it. Anyhow, am glad for him.

Not feeling 100% today . . . had a long nap this afternoon . . . taking it easy now.

Katy, glad to hear about the negative PCR test. My niece's family in Maine have now all finally come back negative. My niece and especially her husband were feeling the covid fairly strongly for a week, but the children just breezed through. I'm taking it easy today, not going out at all. Will watch the election returns from 4 pm onwards.

the AC behaved just like our bodies do when we go to the doctor the symptoms just magically disappear, nothing was found or smelled, i bet it is back again when i get in to drive it again ;-(
