Good morning Pj are you well , it's been just the kind of day to be home ,heating on snuggle up with a book my favourite thing to do how's rishi doing back on her steroids I see your car still hasn't been fixed do they not have any one to do it my neighbour needed an electrician to put an outside sensor light in he charged the earth 150 an hour he came on a Saturday I would've said no if jt was me matina the great dane was most upset no democracy sausage to be had while his father voted his father took him to bunnings for a sausage sizzle instead made him happy enjoy lunch xoxo God bless everyone

Posting a couple of photos of the new (under new management) coffee shop at Leura. Had a cappuccino there the other day and sat in front of a roaring fire!

matina, how is it going today? Hope you're feeling at least a bit better. I feel better today, after staying up late to hear Albo's acceptance speech. No rain up here right now, but it's cloudy and cool. Fuzzies seem well. Rishi had her morning pill but has decided to sleep in. In general, all is well.

Katy, yes, a very good day to snuggle up with a book. I have the central heating going and will light up my fire at about 6 pm or so. So glad that I've got lots of excellent firewood. Might check on the election results from time to time. I enjoy the winter weather up here in the mountains . . . so long as it doesn't rain every day. Must get out and take some more photos before all the autumn leaves disappear. Hope you have a good Sunday.

feeling better today went out for lunch at the pub with mum and returned home, I got to read a chapter so i am a happy wolf indeed, I may get another one done too if i am lucky with a nice cup of tea before having to get some dinner organised.
PJ i would have much rather Bil shorten have been elected for Labor instead of Albo (whom seems at time hard to string 2 words together) a lot like bidden actually why is it we cant find younger candidates( than these ready to be put into nursing homes candidates that seem like they have dementia ) they look and sound like they have a hard enough time organising themselves than trying to organise and run a country
Kathy thank god his father found another sausage sizzle otherwise there would have been hell to pay

I'm still alive! Although wilting a bit in the heat - this week should be cooler

Anyway, here's a little old chap who's come to us, bless him, he's very old and blind - but on the plus side it looks promising that there's a life-time foster family interested in him, will find out more tomorrow



And this likely lad (brown dog) is Ulysse (with my bestie, Mandy), he's an ex hunt dog, obvious why he was dumped, he's terrified of loud bangs, love his little heart. I think we might have a home for him as well - happy days!

matina, I'll refrain from making any Australian political comments here . . . which would probably not make much sense to many Mobi people! But I'm always glad to see a change in elections and, in this case, so many independents and minor parties being successful. Will it make a difference to us here? Hmmmmm. We shall see. So glad to hear that you and your mother got out for a pub lunch. Just heard that my local coffee shop (pictured in my last post) suffered a minor fire today and had to be evacuated! The owner reports that they'll be back in business in another two days.

Fatima, always happy to see more loveable puppers, and even Mandy! The other night I tuned in to our local Aussie show called 'Dog House' or similar and watched lots of successful adoptions. Keep up the good work!

Welcome from beautiful and sunny Las Vegas, city of sin
Now, you all may of heard the old slogan that "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" but not here

Since my wife has now retired, we are free to travel whenever we want. Right as Covid hit two years ago, we were in Vegas to see one our favorite comedian, Bill Maher. But unfortunately at that time, his show was cancelled, Vegas started closing down, and we headed home.
Well... last night Bill Maher played in Vegas again, and this time we were there, completing a journey that we had started two years ago.
We flew in yesterday morning, and our adventures continued
The show was fantastic... we were in the third row and it was up close and hilarious.
Since the show was late, we still haven't even gambled yet. (yes, I'm shocked too )

But today, that is going to change
We have a ton of activities planned, but today, we are going to the downtown area (old Las Vegas - Fremont Street) and gamble in some of the older casinos that aren't on the famous Las Vegas Strip.
We never got a chance to go there last time, so it's time to make up for lost time.
I'll let you know later how that went

Here is a view from our hotel room. It is the High Roller Ferris Wheel. It is a 550-foot tall, 520-foot diameter giant Ferris wheel on the Las Vegas Strip. It is the second highest Ferris Wheel in the world, and we will hopefully give it a spin in the next few days

Pj... Keep those bird pictures coming. We are now getting tons of birds, blue jays, cardinals, robins, orioles, finches, doves, wrens, black birds, crows and even hawks... but none of them are as colorful as your "friends"
Fatima... sorry to dump all the work on you while we are on vacation, but I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
And I love the dog pics.
Kathlyn... It's sound like all is normal and good with you... I hope it stays that way.

And since we are in Vegas, where you can't go 10 feet without being able to buy a drink somewhere, and people just roam the streets, stores, the casinos... basically everywhere, with a drink in their hands... the bar is OPEN... and is OPEN ALL DAY

Great to see so many posts from our CC&BC friends! A koala was spotted in nearby Blackheath (not by me, unfortunately) and the above picture was published in our local weekly newspaper. There aren't supposed to be too many in these parts, but my scientist son says that's just because most people don't know how to look for them.

matina, hope you're feeling better today. All OK here and Rishi seems a bit better. She's getting her steroid pill twice a day. Will write more later.

Katy . . . rain, rain, rain! Had a little bit of sunshine this morning and I sat out on the patio with Sunnya. But that sunny interval didn't last long. Yep, I was taught the same, about what not to talk about . . . and there's too much critical talk everywhere these days . . . so better to keep to positive topics . . . like cats and koalas! I also feel emotional about the Dog House type shows, but they always have happy endings, so that's good.

Well, John. What to say? What a great trip you have planned! In all my many trips to the US, I never once stopped in Las Vegas, so your reports will be news for me. Hope you have a really great time. More pictures will be appreciated. And I'll keep the Aussie bird photos coming here at CC&BC.

lush, I can't comment on kpop. Sorry. I'm still back with the Grateful Dead and Crosby, Stills and Nash! But music does follow us throughout our lives, like a soundtrack, and years later brings back memories. Hope you have good ones!

I'll close with last night's photo of my fireplace. Current weather is just right for a nice fire. This is one of the reasons I love the Blue Mountains.

Oh matina could you imagine us in Vegas hold onto your G-strings strippers and i haven't burnt a pot on um well atleast a couple of weeks Hi Pj yes it's safer to talk about puppies n kittens around our menfolk they tend to get quite heated Wow a koala in the mountains it makes you wonder how many more are there in the deeper valleys that is hard to get to I hope so it's a lovely thought hugs to everyone take care

matina, all OK here today, despite my lack of a car! Watching my birds together with Sunnya. Hope you're feeling better. Have been working on my computer and improving my backup system. Might do some more reading this afternoon. Have lots of food and cat food and spring water stored up, so I should be OK.

Katy, bottom photo shows the sky over Katoomba about an hour ago. Cloudy today but not as cool as yesterday. Hoping that the rain clears tomorrow. Quiet day. My son says that there are definitely koalas around in the Blue Mountains. He goes by the types of gum trees. He also says that the old saying -- that koalas don't live about 1000 metres -- is wrong. I know they have some in the famous public gardens on Bells Line of Road near Bilpin (name escapes me) because I visited there years ago and the staff told me about them.
